Criminal Charges and Double Jeopardy??? (post #1)
Well I was arrested a few months ago upon picking up a package addressed to me from my box at MBE. I never opened it because as soon as I walked out the door, I was approached by about 8 vice, postal inspectors, customs agents and god knows who else. I was arrested, invoked my right to counsel and said nothing, and taken to jail. Once they got a search warrant, they found 26 vials of T400 in my apartment and claim that the box contained 12,000 tablets of dbol.
So I am charged with two counts of posession w/i/s/d, maintaining a dwelling, and paraphanlia. My criminal case is being handled by an excellent attorney and I am totally comfortable with his representation especially because I did not speak to anyone without first talking to him. I am in NC, btw.
THEN, I get a bill for $90,000 for posession of an unauthorized substance, the dbol and T400. It was only $68,000 if I had paid it within 48 hours, but the jail didnt exactly have an ATM.
Criminal attorneys do not deal with civil matters so no matter what the outcome of my criminal case, I could be aquitted of all charges, I would still be stuck with a $90,000 tax and lose everything they confiscated when they raided my place.
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT???
Despite being convicted of absolutely nothing whatsoever, they took all my posessions and hit me with a tax of $90,000. Worse yet, there are hardly any attorneys who deal with the issue so I am basically fucked. I cannot own a car in my name, land, they garnish my wages - even though I am legally innocent until proven guilty!!!
The tax collector suggested working some sort of payment plan with them, such as giving them $200 per month, in exchange for them agreeing not to come after me any more. He could be completely bullshitting me and I would never agree to such terms without counsel. Besides, isnt that admitting guilt to a degree?
Bros, help me out. I am completely lost in this civil tax matter and have no idea where to begin. This is literally my only source of advice, honest advice, and some sort of guidance in this matter!
Let me thank you now RC, Citrucide, Dimagio, and all the others who make this site what it is and have the courage to stand up for what we believe in. Thanks, bros!
