Do all squats feel heavy regardless of how much is on the bar?

i just started squatting recently. my max is 215-225. 135 doesn't feel heavy. my lower back and abs don't have much strength, and so my upper body is significantly burdened by the weight as i descend. i think core strength (or a lack of it) will make a big difference in what feels heavy.

It always feels heavy, warmups right up to my working set, I just know what I should be doing that day so I work up to it and do it, once I start my reps I always make good on them.

I compare squats to banging your head against the wall, hurts like a bastard while you are doing it, but it feels so good when you stop....

I try to make all of my sets feel light. A lot of it is mental and the amount of effort you put into it. Ed Coan I believe said "Treat the light weights like the heavy weights and the heavy weights will go up like the light weights."

I treat every set, whether it is 225 or 800 like I need to blow it through the ceiling. I always go through my entire routine, taking a big breath, getting my stance right ect. whether it is light or heavy. This is especially true when I am warming up for a max. I don't want anything feeling heavy. Mentally I want everything to feel like a joke.

if you warmup betetr they get lighter

do a few sets of triples at each warmup weight, only go up to the next warmup weight when that load feels "lighter"

also when your overreaching things will feel heavier.
