2.5 year break results

Not suprisingly, I've lost most of my gains since I haven't been hitting the weights. I've done mostly mountain biking, surfing, and swimming, and here it is (this is to serve curiosity more than anything).

At my peak:

5'6 186 10% BF
Bench max 300x1
Squat 545x6
DB Shoulder Press: 110x8 (my favorite)
Deadlift: ? I tore my meniscus before I got to try this. Believe it or not, I aggravated my knee getting up off the mat wrestling, and injured it when doing a dip w/o weights.

After I injured my knee, I suffered a AC Type II separation in my shoulder. It's healed but is not as strong, and I doubt it will ever be. This was at the end of my 2nd 8 week Sust cycle.

Now: I've pretty much settled to my natural weight.

5'6 158 8% BF
Sports have helped keep my BF down, which is around 15% sedentary. I went through a period of constantly feeling weak, but feel perfectly fine - besides people at the gym telling me, 'wow, you've lost alot of weight'. No s*it, I'm aware of it. However, I don't have any mood swings anymore, something I was really prone to while lifting.

Damn... I'm glad I was a member for a few years and have a history before I came back. Some of those guys are brutal down there. LOL...

I'm in pretty much the same boat, though I've had memberships at gyms the whole time up until a 4 month break for the last little while. I'd been very lackadaisically going through the motions for a good while even with that.

Now, I'm thinking the total break did me good - kind of rebirth.

Best of luck to you and hope this is a sign you're hitting the weights again hardcore.

As far as the purpose goes: Last time I was a member, there were always alot of posts asking if gains were permanent. I was one of the ones who said it was possible to elevate your natural weight to a new weight. Mostly, I was wrong.

My lifts are around 80% of what I could do on-cycle before my injuries. I'm looking to train for an additional 10-12 months before I start back on, but my choices are mostly deca or sust. I've done 3x 8 week sust cycles; first at 250, second at 500, third at 500 then 250 for the last 2 weeks. All have been followed by 3 weeks with clomid of varying amounts. Those cycles were done over a period of maybe 1 1/2 years.

My goal is 170-175 at around 9%. I'm thinking of a cycle like this:
W1: 250 Deca 500 sust
W2: 250 Deca 500 sust
W3: 250 Deca 500 sust
W4-8: 500 sust
W9-11/12 50 clomid

You can't say you lost your gains because you came off gear. You stopped lifting. Of course I'm not saying you'll keep gains if you come off, but if you stop lifting it is expected that you will lose your gains.

Very, very true. I wasn't stressing my muscles as hard, or in the same way, when I stopped lifting. It's to be expected. I do feel that I know my body's capabilities now, and I have goals better suited to myself now (170 vs. 190 @ 9%).

You want to increase your bf by only 1% Im not sure you can stay so lean over that 8 wk period. Deca and sus put water on and you going to have to eat like a mofo to put 20 keepable lbs on.

Those are my goals post cycle...I expect to be up around 185 on cycle again. My last cycle I was around 190-195 which was just horrible - I looked like the Michelin man (well, not that bad).

Next week I'll be hitting the gym again in full force, I've just been conditioning my body for the last two weeks so I don't get injured.
