Fish Overload?

Seattleite

Banned
I eat a shitload of fish. Typically 3 times per day, and it's almost always tuna or salmon - always wild caught (no farm raised fish). I don't eat meat so fish is my primary protein source. Is this okay or is it going to cause some major problems?

There are mercury blood tests. Just get one after 3 months of this diet and repeat.

But most canned tuna is skipjack, which is small and pretty safe.

For years I've eaten that much fish, and wondered too so I got a blood test - my mercury concentration levels were < 20% of levels that are cause for concern.

Most likely you will be ridiculously healthy from all the salmon's omega 3's.

Yea, I did one of the tests offered by Greenpeace. Send a sample of hair and $5 or so and they report your mercury level. Cheap and accurate.

I don't think so.
the mercury scare is majorly overblown
naturally occuring methyl mercury has been in sea water since the dawn of time
There are more toxins in fruit and vegetables then wild sea fish
The biggest problem with fish oils is vitamin a toxicity , not mercury
