Ugly stuff just coming to light in New Orleans.

Dude Rita moved all the way across the gulf of Mexico in a westerly fashion

katrina moved almost due north

And both at about 3-8 mph.

Incompetance from the local officials is #1 on the "to blame" list.

Since you like statistics , why don't you look up the distance , that each traveled... 3-8mph is slow but if one traveled 500 miles more then the other then that give people time to prepare

Pathetic.

Each state at AT LEAST a 4 day warning. Thats at the very least. In 4 days you could drive all the way to Canada.

If you mobilize them quickly enough , then yes.

and who's fault is that?

That's right Nagin.

What were Nagin's words when informed that he needed to get his citizens out of NO now? Not later in the day. Not the next morning but NOW.

He said he had to let the city attorneys look at the situation and see what legal pitfalls there might be in Katrina didn't hit NO. I want to sleep on it and I'll make a decision tomorrow (which I think was the day before he decided to order the evacuation). Nothing like sleeping on an important decision. He even got pissed off during his meal with his family when he was interrupted by some higher up official about evacuating NO and why he had not done it yet.
His response during this interruption was that these things always seem to veer off a little before landfall so we are going to watch it closely.

He gambled and lost and in a big way. That is why he should be removed or forced to resign as Mayor.

I don't think 1 day is enough for any large city... This is what we'd be talking about

Where do you get 4 days from???

The hurricane did not did nto become a problem until saturday, and it hit on Monday? Dude , stop talking about what you dont know or understand
Youre pathetic. A perfect example of what is wrong with this country.

IThey had much more time to prepare for Rita as katrina moved faster.

That is total BS, imo.

While Mayor Nagin decided to sleep on his decision before ordering an evacuation, Katrina did speed up which reduced the time for evacuation.

National Hurricane Center predicted as Katrina crossed Florida that NO would be a very real possibilty for a second landfall.

She tracked West and then Southwest across the Gulf and then started turning towards NO.

This is nature folks and we do not totally understand the variables involved. Weeknesses in pressure ridges, wind shear, etc all play into the equation.

If Max Mayfield called me and told me there is a hurricane coming, I sure wouldn't take that lightly as Nagin did. Nagin fucked up and then started passing the blame to take the spotlight off of his incompetency.

By the way, you didnt answer my question.

Do you think there is a difference in humans based on the color of their skin? Yes or no?
