Sweating and Acne

Does anyone break out when they sweat too much?

I've been sweating my ass off at the gym and I've been noticing acne on my back and forehead progressing..... does anyone have any suggestions or recommended products? (Right now I just clean with water, basic soap and exfoliate with a scrub.)

I just finished my first cycle of t3... is there a connection between t3 and acne?

Thanks :)

Most acne treatments just have salicylic acid, which frankly has never done shit for me. For some people it's effective though. This product combines it with sulfur, which IMO works better as an anti-acne for everyone.

And this product is my favorite. It's the sulfur heavy hitter. A 10% sulfur masque

As for T3 causing acne, no I wouldn't think so. If you are only getting acne in the areas where you sweat more you probably just need to spot treat. If you start breaking out over geographically large areas due to use of androgens, use of the antibiotic erythromycin might be in order.

That can happen when sweat combines with dead skin cells to clog up your pores.

I'd recommend exfoliating daily, which you said you do. I use Dark Angels from Lush. I love it. It works amazingly for me and I'll probably never use anything else. It's kind of expensive for face/body wash though, it also probably wouldn't be good for you if the reason for your acne is sweat and not oil. So I'm sure yours is fine.

After that, I usually use some astringent on a cotton ball because often certain elements of your face or body wash can be left on your skin after your shower. Watch, you think your all clean but even right after a shower you can also see some dirt on a cotton ball after you use it to apply astringent. It's crazy.

That's pretty much it for me. If the acne is getting bad and you're looking for a quick fix, Persa Gel 10 always worked for me. If I put it on at night on a spot, it'd usually be noticably reduced by morning. It's very drying, though, so I don't recommend putting it on in the morning if you're going to be in the sun much. The only thing is that if youre putting that on your body, id recommend white sheets because a couple times i put it on my face and it somehow got on my pillow and stained it.

I was using an over the counter product called Benzamycin for about 2 years, but a couple months ago I developed allergies (itchy swollen red eyes, burning skin etc) as an immunity to it, apparently. Since then I have been trying numerous products. My doctor recommended a different over the counter product called Clindoxyl Gel, which unfortunately has the common ingredient, Benzoyl Peroxide, and caused the same allergy flare ups.. So it's not really just the sweating, it is also a lot of natural oils. I'm waiting for an appointment with a dermatologist to come up. In the meantime I'm not trying anything else, just exfoliating, using a mild astringent, and blotting oil throughout the day with baby powder enriched with aloe and vitamin E (which is really amazing, it takes away the shine and makes the skin feel soft and even)

Anyways thanks for the advice, I will have to update after I have an appointment with the doctor.

I actaully get little spots on occassion around the belt line from sweating and the elastic waistband.
If you find nothing is working try researching B5. It is great for people who have bad acne problem so it may be a bit of over kill but if it works that is all that matters.

send me a pm. I have a product combo I will give you to try for free. For your feed back of course. NTBM's Acne Attacker Kit
It will work and I will give it to you for free to use and log your feed back after it works for you too. If you are interested then send me a pm.. BTW O names Nate and I run this entire site Hi

Hey slat1, have you ever tried B5??? I don't know anyone myself who has tried it, but it seems to be a last resort kind of treatment for people with severe acne. The side effects sound scary. There is a lot of information about it online but most of it (in my opinion) seems to be pointing people away from using it. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid. However, there is a specific way to take it, a specific amount, and other vitamins that should be taken with it, etc etc... and (I'm doubtful) people don't always follow the rules. I think I would try it, but not before exhausting the alternatives!!

How ironic is it that going to the gym makes my acne a bazillion times worse.. when I'm devoting myself to going there for the purpose of improving my appearance lol...where is the win!!

I personally trust the natural way of acne treating. I have just eliminated acne from my life. After trying several creams and chemical solution a friend of mine that is studying medicine told me that acne has to be treated from the inside. So I searched for acne treatments that is not chemical based. Here is a site that reviewed the program I used blah spam. I got rid of acne in 2 months and now I feel great. Take action on acne, or people will laught at you. That`s what I beared untill i got rid of it.
