I tore a pec about 3 years ago. Since I live in Canada I had to wait for the surgery after being passed off from doctor to specialist to a couple surgeons unwilling to perform the surgery and finally to one of the best surgeons in Canada. Of course with him being the best I was put on a waiting list so from the time of the injury to the surgery was about 1.5 years.
Fast forward to now. 1.5 years of recuperation and my pec still isn't the same but has gotten alot stronger. Probably about 80% of my strength has come back. Enough to make me decide to get back into competition.
So 4 weeks into my dieting I strain my bad pec. I don't think I tore it, and if I did it's just very slight and not major(off the bone) was it was before.
Nice fucking luck I have.
I'm extremely surprised more bodybuilders don't have this problem. Lucky for them. Believe me, when a pec is torn it's like a car with a flat tire. You may look great everywhere else but that tire is flat and you aren't going to be going too far with it.
