Shit I feel like a falure!

I have been on a diet for atlest 6 weeks(very clean) and I have stuck it strict to the bone not even cheated once, than I decided today is a day for a cheatmeal at a restraunt and it ended up as a binge day. After lunch, I ended up eating a jar of penut butter and candybars(metrx and pure protien 8 of them) amoung other treats, I was suspose to ration them out.

I just have a thing with penut butter and I usally try to stay away from it when dieting. love it but it brought on huge cravings. Now I feel sick and bloated. Well atlest I didnt eat pizza but hey, I think if I ate a pizza it would have tasted a little better. but in anycase I feel like a falure, I cant even just handel one cheat lunch meal of going out to eat without going crazy. I think I gained a 1b from the peanut butter and the cheat meal. How can I prevent this?

i feel your pain man. i think my best advice for you to prevent this is just load up on steamed cabbage, eat about a half a head a day or whole head. steam it up with salt and pepper and some vinager if you like. i know u probably dont like the sound of cabbage but it tastes good as hell with alot of salt and pepper and vinager just steam for 15 min. eat cabbage for breakfast lunch and dinner, have it already prepared for the day so u can just heat it up. eat tons of the stuff its cheap only 2 bucks a head of cabbage just eat the shit out of it. its the cheapest veggie available too i beilive and tastes great give it a shot you will learn to like it and become addicted to it

6 weeks without a cheat day....good for you bro

don't sweat having a binge day here and there. As long as your doing everything right the rest of time, it's not going to hurt you.

It

It is all in your mind, You have gone 6 steps foward and with all the water it looks like u went 2 steps back, it will take a few days to get the water out and get back to normal just get back on the path. I remember when I was dieting a few months ago and I did a binge day a ton of carbs fats proteins, DAMN MEXICAN FOOD and Cake, and I put on like 10lbs in 2 days, it was mostly water and after i went back to normal. Just relax dont be hard on yourself.

Going 6 weeks without a cheat day/refeed should not be a goal if you are interested in sustained fat loss and muscle preservation.

Read my leptin articles.

ok thanks alot guys. What do you suggest I eat for refeeds? Do I have to eat dextrose and stuff like that or can I do it on complex carbs?

I have been doing a diet similar to nclifter6feet6, high protein, modfat, low carbs. around 1300-1500 calories but without carbups.

I have been losing 1.5-2.5 lbs a week, the recommended amount.

I know most of you guys probally lose 2lbs on a 2000, but I only lose 1 or less on that, with or without carbs it doesnt seem to make a difference.

I have tried carbups in the past on the CKD but I only end up losing 1/2lb a week after the carbup. As I seem to gain to much bodyfat eating 800-1000 grams a carbs in a 1-2 day period, and can actually gain more than I lose durring the week!!!

I did the CKD last year exactally to the bone as lyle described at 10Xtimes bodyweight and I ended up gaining muscle and staying the same weight or gaining. I never lost fat at a good pace.

How can I prevent this? I currently do cardio 4-5 times a week and lift about 5.

I am about 190 and %10-12 bodyfat and 5'10 carb deflated I can also see my abbs only if I flex. My waste was 32 inches before yesterday.

I started this diet around 17%bodyfat, I had it checked at my gym my friend is a personal trainer. I have made huge progress but the thing that sux my metabolism is so freaken slow.

I mean I would like to eat more calories but then I would have to do cardio 2 times a day??? How can you do a refeed without gaining the fat back or slowing you down??
Please help me out.

Atlest I dont look fat at all anymore thank god! but I am sick of starvation diets. I really want to get chizzeled now and I am willing to diet for 6-8 weeks.

Sounds like your doing okay to me. Don't sweat the minor setback with the peanut butter. I persoanlly do not like the concept of the cheat DAY. I think it should be a cheat MEAL once a week. Why do I say this? If you are losing 1.5 pound a week you are eating around 5000 calories less then you are using. I could easily eat 3000 extra in a whole cheat day which would be more than half of your calorie reduction for the week. Your on the right track. If you've dieted for six weeks keeping your weight loss in between 1.5 and 2 pounds a week. You are ahead of most people. Good luck to you.

necro,

I feel your pain, I too have those severe cravings after weeks of a clean diet, mine (i've found) are from a systemic issue that I've lived with all my life (and never known). I'm insulin resistant and any/all sugar just blows my cravings through the rough, so peanut butter, oh yea, the binge is on.....so I keep it around with a strict discipline if it's in the house.

I like the cabbage idea, that works well if you're loaded up on veges' and vinegar (that'll dehydrate you big time) you can't load up on other things. I do that with brocolli and asparagas when it's in season.

Anyway, my ND helped me with the metabolism thing, she prescribed Cytomel (T3) and I started it last week, thank god. I'm tired as hell now, but that's cause my system is burning calories like crazy....talk to a good ND (naturopath) and find out if your blood chemistry is whacked (a high sugar reading on a fast is an indicator as well as low T3 with high T4 (i.e. T4 gets converted to T3 in your body, if your production of T4 is great, but the conversion is crap, you need T3 therapy). I stack it with Clenbut and presto, ripped.

Ciao! and good luck

Karma is good

If you do a refeed or a binge, stick to carbs, and avoid fat. This will refill glycogen without storing too much fat. It will slow weight-loss, but not too much fat. Try pasta or rice Krispies or even a sugary cereal... just not peanut butter for a refeed.
