The future is not certain but

I know one thing.... as soon as the pain goes away Im going straight to the gym for some heavy front squats
 
also do your core work first in your workout, lower back and abs.

Makes a big difference! It doesn't make sense but it works!
 
doing the core work first is a good idea when you have a minor problem, but in your case I don't think you should even be training.

my suggestion, nut up and go see a doc....if you are in school you know its covered....if not then go find one that specializes in people with no insurance.
 
A friend did something similar when he was doing explosive quarter squats with pretty heavy weights. Crushed some discs.

He had to stop training for a few months to rehab it.
Did lots of exercises that were prescribe for him, some pool work. I got him doing reverse hypers as well.

he's good as new now.

Did about 30 sets of reverse hypers today along with icing and advil
