yyea probably will switch to your style too. Did i cheat a lot on curls? come on tell me
Hey man
You're doing fantastic. I've enjoyed your videos.
I wouldn't say you are cheating a LOT on the curls, but I'll be honest and say yes, the last few I've seen looked rather loose. In 135x2, you did initiate the movement with more heave-ho than I think would qualify for a
strict curling movement.
However, those kinds of curls definitely have their place. I try to keep mine very strict, but I still work the weight up such that, after a few weeks of progression, I have to start cheating toward the end of a set--a little lean here, a little initial jerk there--to beat my previous record. (I only do this on the last couple reps of a total of 8-10, though. I think if you're starting the first rep with a jerky movement it'd probably be better to take some weight off the bar. Depends on your goals, of course, but I don't get much out of curling movements unless I can get at least 6+ reps in a straight set.)
I keep doing that and adding the weight before my joints start complaining. Then, I start all over with my next workout; I drop the weight such that I can do a whole bunch of very strict reps. And I work my way back up again.
Try something like that. I think you'll like it. It gives you the best of both worlds I think.
