Havent really been able to sleep at all the last few days , i have bad anxiety at night shortness of breath i get irritated and cant get comfortable. I'm out of Ambien (Dr. prescribed) and cannot get an appointment until monday. Ive tried over the counter sleep aids , Melatonin , warm milk bla bla bla and so on.

I have this problem even off AA's but it seems to be alot worse this week dunno if its because i found out my wife is having our 3rd child or if its because i want to beat canseco's head into a pile of mush or whatever. As most of you know the less sleep you get the more irritated you get any help would be great thanks guys...........

Try this,It helps a lot for a natural product. It helped me get off prescription stuff, works way better than just melatonin. I take 3-4 pills before bed the other OTC stuff makes you feel like shit the next day but this stuff is OK.

Each pill contains
-melatonin
-valerian root
-chamomile
-jujube
-passion flower
-niacin
-calcium
-magnesium

Ambien.. have u evern tried imovane? doctor prescribe as well..

neocitron sometimes works for me too and i have serious sleep issues

I am considered an insomaniac(medically diagnosised) and I have tried ambien and have a current prescription for temazepam. I still have to take my prescript 6 hours before I plan to go to bed and take one more pill when I lay down. Something that might help for you would be Kava Kava Root. It is an over the counter liquid you can find in the medicine area. If you take enough of that with a sleep aid pill it might help you sleep. Anyways, I just thought I would let you know. I hope it helps. Good Luck.

Pea

When I was having trouble sleeping I would use 1, 4 B, or something like it for sleep purposes only. It was the best deepest sleep I have ever had. WOre off in about 4 hours and you wake up feeling great, no hang over

Clonazepam

Diphenhydramine aka benedryl is safe up to 100mg at a time not to exceed 400 mg/day. I know people that take 100 mg 1 - 1.5 hours before going to bed and have no problems. If needed, motrin 200 - 800 mg (OTC) can be used to stop the 'jerking' associated with benedryl. And since benedryl has anticholergenic (sp) properties; it can slow down your heart rate. But i've yet to see that happen.

Wouldn't it be nice to sleep naturally? Sounds like your sleep deprivation is from anxiety. Try to meditate and clear your thoughts before you go to bed. You can also shut each thought off as it arises when you're lying in your bed. Make up a click or bang noise in your head that automatically shuts off each thought one by one. Don't worry about how many thoughts you have to shut off, just do it one by one as each thought arises. Also, if you find yourself watching the clock, turn it so you can't see it at night. I'm a psych major, so I'm not just talking out my ass. These are real techniques, and the first one works for me every time; I'm usually out in ten minutes.
