my friend's lats are uneven, and he needs some expert advice on how he should go about correcting it. i know a lot of people are going to say more one arm rows, but hopefully there are other suggestions. let's hear them.

Here is his picture

here is his current back routine:

behind the neck pulldowns 4x8-12
one arm rows 4x8-12
close grip pulldowns 3x8-12
seated rows 3x8-12
machine pullovers 3or4x8-12
weighted hyperextensions 3x30-40

That pic has got to be just a bad angle...if it's that bad...I don't even know what to say.

I'd stay the hell away from any unilateral movements. Tell him to stick with closed-chain movements, pull-ups instead of pull-downs. You can't really pull more with one arm than the other one when doing pull-ups, so it should even things out.

Also tell him to use lighter weights and really concentrating on working the muscles rather than just moving the weights.

no, it's not the angle..

His love handles on that side are also bigger than the right side...there has to be something going on with the angle...tell him to take a straight on one.

It may be the angle. We'll just have to see.

I know it's not the topic at hand, but doesn't it seem like he does just a bit too much volume? He's near about 20 sets, it seems.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing on the volume. i, personally, would ditch isolating the lower back, because it gets enough work from deads and rent over rows..but i dont see much free weight work here, anyways.

a new pic will be up in a sec.

ok, here is the second pic. it's not as bad as the first, but you can still see some lop-sidedness.

Yeah...that looks ALOT better. It's not too bad actually, so I'd stick with my first suggestion...just keep working them bilaterally, with lower weights (if that's necessary to concentrate on working them equally). And sub pull-ups for pull-downs.
