KARMA THREAD>>>>The Jury is getting ready to give Casey Anthony justice FINALLY?

the question is... DID SHE FINALLY GET JUSTICE????

So pretty much you can have all the circumstantial evidence in the world but you have to have DNA, fingerprints or catch the crime on film to convict someone? Didn't she have a hair from a decomposing body in her trunk? Cadaver dogs and everything...the duct tape on the body, the garbage bag, the chloroform and the chloroform searches, Casey's behavior after her daughter went "missing"...Casey lying about the nanny...casey's general behavior..none of that was enough to convict her of ANYTHING? I have a hard time understanding what reasonable doubt means then...

No. Gotmilk mentioned the bag and the duct tape, her possession may have been enough if she were the only personwith access to it, but she wasn't. DNA/Fingerprints aren't the only way to prove use, but unfortunately the prosecution didn't have the other methods available as proof either.

It's not enough to have a dead body and to have a 'murder weapon'. If you can't put that 'weapon' in a suspect's hand, you don't have anything. That being said, even though I believe she's guilty and should rot in hell, I think the jury made the right choice under law with the evidence presented.

And no, you can't convict because of someone's behavior. And as for her lies, she was found guilty on her four counts of giving law enforcement false info.

I'm just trying to understand, that's all...

As for reasonable doubt, it's the prosecutions job to prove guilt, not the defense's job to prove innocence. It's the prosecutions job to give the jury an air tight, proven story of how a crime was committed and the defense's job to create reasonable doubt by poking holes in that story, and if they did, the jury would need to say that person was not guilty.

Reasonable doubt does not mean "she's innocent, but I have reasonable doubt she's guilty, so I need to say she's guilty".

I personally think she's guilty.

However, having those objects in her possession unfortunately isn't enough to prove guilt. Those things were used on Caylee. And Casey/her family possessed those things, but what would need to be proved for a conviction is that Casey is the one who used those objects.

Agree. I have duct tape and garbage bags in my house too.

Of course I think Casey Anthony is guilty. I thought OJ was too. Civil case found OJ guilty. Maybe Casey's parents will bring a civil suit against Casey and she will be found guilty too. Of course she has nothing (yet) to compensate anyone with. Maybe they can block her book and movie deals too (like OJ).

I bet someone guns her down. I think she won't last 6 months before someone kills her.

I wonder if the parents will sue her for making them look like the guilty people.

What really pisses me off is how a jury can see duct tape and a garbage bag that came from the house and still not find a person guilty. A minimum of aggrivated manslaughter.

Exactly.

Since you have all the facts, perhaps you should send the courts a nasty email detailing the error of they're ways.

But, yeah, I agree with you. Resonable doubt is pretty annoying and should be done away with. I mean, she *looked* guilty, right? So she probably is.
