....true....but everyone KNOWS that he doesn't mean it in a derogatory way - that is the problem I have with Zero Tolerance - If two minorities are on a thread and they begin a flame war with "racist" comments - I have to lock it and Ia m NOT doing that...it its insulting to the intelligence of the posters.

ANyone with 10 IQ points can tell if something is said in a derrogatory tone.

When I call someone a fag, I don't mean that they possess the same qualities as homosexuals. "Fag" has always been a word I used that basically meant the same thing as punk, dork, nerd, dumbass, asshole, etc.

No, Fag has a whole lot more emotional spin on it.

I also think that the word "fag" or "faggot" is commonly used in gay circles, as I have heard many members of the gay community use it. "Queen" is also a word commonly used by homosexuals. I don't see why any homosexuals would be offended by hearing a straight man called a fag if they themselves call each other fags.

Don't do it. Trust me on this one. There's no way a straight guy can use this word "correctly".

What's weird is that I think that if a gay man heard me call a straight man a fag, he would be much less offended than if I called a gay guy a fag. Oh the irony.

Wrong. In both cases you're using the word FAG to mean something degrading. That means you think I am degraded. Both are equally offensive.
