This is not a direct democracy and there are checks and balances. The ban on gay marriage is, at the end of the day, unconstitutional. Just because 7 million voters have some problem with geighs getting married doesnt make it correct.
When I first opened your thread I thought it was actually revoking the right to gay marriages / civil partnerships etc as I'd of thought by now they'd be legal in all US states.
Lol at a majority decision against gay marriages. People need to spend more time worrying about shit that's actually affecting their lives & costing them money if they want to get righteous about something.
Marriage is a term tied with stupid religious connotations anyway. It should be "civil partnerships" with only legal / fiscal ramifications.
