Folks, Australia is completely different to the US. Being in the army in Australia is considered to be one rung up from being unemployed, and is associated as being the career of last resort for ex-criminals, long term unemployed and social misfits. whether right or wrong that's how society here see's it.

The government here has very strict affirmative action legislation as far as sexual discrimimnation is concerned. You could prance around in a pink tutu if you wanted to and no one would say a thing to you. You could sing it to the world that you are gay, and nothing will happen.
