:redhot: :redhot: :splat: I know a lot of you guys are going to hate me for this but, I have to say this, I don't understand where a lot of you guys are coming from? I thought we were in the sport of bodybuilding not going for anorexia! I mean this is a great place to get imformation and I find it very helpful in helping me to obtain my goals but these people who are 150 lbs and still trying to lose weight, please give me a break! I always thought the best way to go was to grow the oak before you start to carv it out, not take twigs and make tooth picks. I just find it disturbing when I hear about these little boys trying to look like alley mcbeal, like really how much muscle can be on a 150 lb frame, please guys grow up and stop reading cosmo. I hope I didn't insult to many people but I hardly find these people role models for health, and one more thing, please give weight training at least a year before you wimp out and get juiced. Sincerely salty!:kaioken:

Actually, I somewhat agree here. I've noticed a few people whose goals and stats don't mix. For example, people claiming to be extremely ripped, yet asking about cutting cycles. or people posting pics of themselves, skinny as twigs, talking about how they'd just come off lipokinetix. These things don't match up, and they sometimes worry me.

I dunno. it's almost too hairy a problem to worry about, though.

I don't think it's our place to worry about soomeone's goals. I mean this is a diet discussion board and there are as many reasons out there to diet as there are people. Many people on Elite Fitness are into BB, but many are not. My values (which are very much BB oriented) are separate from my dietary knowledge which can help wannabe anorexics as much as wannabe big fat dudes on 4 grams of gear a week. As mcuh as it disgusts me to give advice to a 5'8" 150lb male who wants to get down to 135 lbs I figure he's just gonna go elsewhere for advice if we abuse or ignore him. But I always put the caveat in that I personally think he should pick up a weight and add some muscle.

Remember, weight doesn't mean shit. Body fat% does.

I'm sure alot of people are light but not cut.

IMO, It's easier to drop all your fat and then bulk as opposed to vice versa.

I reckon they have a problem cause im 6'0 and only 150 and i wanna gain like MAD! So far im doing heaps well.. But how the hell could you look good at 135 lbs!? I probly wont even look good until 170 ish+ .. ahhh welll

To be honest I don't always see how peoples physiques and weights even begin to match.

My friend ways 190 and is an inch shorter than me, hes not fat by any means flat stomach ect.. but he doesn't lift, starting to get him into to it.

I'm 175 now, and 6"3" I'm a fuckload stronger (I'm sure he would be stronger if he lifted though, hes got the build) than he is and albiet I am alot lower on BF% than he is, he just does not look to have enough extra bodyfat to make the 15IB difference all while I'm a bit taller and have alot more muscle than he does.

I seriously don't know where the fuck his weight comes from or where the hell my weight is. Do I have hollow bird bones damnit was I designed to fly?

The only thing I can really think is that somehow I just don't hold water nearly the same amount of water he does. Being how heavy water is, and the fact that if your skinny besides skin thickness you probably won't notice it much.

btw started lifting with a weight of 164, now I'm 175

hmm another question, does slow twitch versus fast twich muscle fibres have different densities?

I know muscle density can vary from person to person muscle to muscle, time to time ect.. but, in general any difference between the desities of fast twitch and slow twitch?

I totally agree with MS.

Look Salty, I am not going to be a child and try to disagree with you. Simply, I'll ask you a question: is it not right to answer a persona's needs, no matter the stats? I can see one factor in your argument, which is, as I see it, truly oppinion based. But, as a matter of fact, I can see where you are coming from; at the same time, I do not percieve a persons stats as a base for judgement. I simply state the dietary facts, and let them decided the outcome of their program, whether objective or subjective. It will all boil down to one fact: a diet is a diet not matter the stats.

agreed.

I've talked to quite a few people this summer already that are dropping $200+ / month on supplements without getting the foundations or basics understood.

This board in many ways represents a pretty solid knowledge base - after you've gone through some of the crap.

Well, hey, if you're 150 at 20% bodyfat, you got some fat to lose. Plus you have to remember that just because Joe has his abs showing at 10% bodyfat, doesn't mean that Bob will have his showing at 10% he might need 7%.

Not everyone here is in it for the health aspect. Many of us, including myself, are just in it for the vanity. Andhey, maybe some people liek the chisled skinny look, not everyone wants to be a mountain either.
