I got the season one collection of Dexter, and....

the concept and idea are very good. Excellent storyline.

However...



















the actors all suck. damn they raided like, a D talent list to get these. It is like a damn high school drop out class auditioned. Dexter seems to have a permanent case of chapped lips in the every scene, pale color, and simply can't act worth shit.
His sister... god damn that girl looks like she was hit a few too many times in the face with a brick. No amount of (attempted) witty dialogue can cover up the fact that she has a face made for radio.

The black police dude, has that angry black man with a wee bit of office power attitude that can only be attributed to the martin lawrence school of acting talent.

anyway, up to episode 4 now. the only thing that makes it remotely watchable is seeing the other psychos. too bad they all die because their acting talent exceeds the others.

showtime has a pretty good lineup now.

HBO has had a monopoly on premium channel shows, but all of those 3 showtime shows are excellent

I watched the whole season on DVD and I have to admit that I laughed at the sister's and the black cop's acting too.

Also, I have a problem with the entire premise because serial killers have very specific types of victims that they ENJOY killing. The premise is flawed because having the father tell him to only kill bad dudes would take all the thrill out of the kill for the serial killer. Most serial killers dig killing people to whom they are physically attracted (not all, but most)

Otherwise, it was pretty entertaining.
