I bought a new bike

And to get technical, the fastest bike on the road for 04 is the ZX10.

Heres a pic of mine though.....

I've only had it 2 weeks, so by season end, the paint will change, rims will change, signals will change, and internal shit will be done!!

Sweet ride! I like th R1...my fav is still the Zx9r Ninja though! :qt:

I just got my new ride as well after having an old lady broad side me on my ducati 996 almost a year ago. I opted for the 03 GSXR-1000. I have to say the same as you, absolute wheelie machine. I do like stunting though and doing stand ups down the interstate. Only thing I dont like about my GSXR is that it does not look any where near as good as my duck did.

Hey Lat, dont get me wrong I do Love stunting. I just hate the guys who think they are badasses because they can do it. I'm like good, you can do 12 o'clocks and fuck your bike up but can you whoop my ass??? Hey, the Duc is a nice bike, did you have the mono or bi posto? Love the frame and front end, hate the tail. Sucks to be hit, I got hit lasst year too on my R6, rear ended at a stop sign but the guys gonna pay me good though here in a couple months. Stand ups were a lot easier on my R6 though because the throttle response is so much more immediate and almost overwhelming on my R1. But I'm slowly gettiing used to it.

Pittbull, I gotta ask (and it's more because I don't know a lot about the Buells, other than they look really good but sound like shit) how can your bike smoke any jap bike when your bikes base hp is 103, and mine for instance has a base of 150. Yours has 84 ft lbs of torque, mine has 105. Couple that with the fact that mine weighs in at 383.6 and yours at 395. Those are the numbers for my 03 R1, the numbers a re slightly higher for the Gixxer 1000, and higher still for the new ZX10R. Even with heavy modification I dont see it possible that a Buell can even compete on the same track as a "jap bike". This post is not a flame so dont get all offended and start a war, I just don't see how it's possible.

gotta agree with wolfpack charlie R1 man on the stunting issue. to me, stunting is no indication of how good of a rider you are. if you can ride massive wheelies, then more power to you. i prefer hitting the twisties. sure, that's partially due to the fact that i can't wheelie all that great, but i could care less. too many non-riders think that sportbikes are made for wheelies and dragging. i've been asked many times if i "drag," to which i reply "well, i'm always trying to drag a knee." i get some really strange looks. i've found, however, that trying to explain to non-riders that a sportbike is for flying through turns leaned over as far as you can is just like trying to explain that 4x4s should be used for offroading, not a status symbol.

Lat, Wolfpack, that sucks you guys both went down because of a cage. hopefully no injuries because of it.

and pitbull - with how big you look in your pic, you might be at a disadvantage. all the weight from those massive back muscles is gonna slow you down a bit ;)

There's this one punk here who always asks "do you launch" he likes to race light to light. Im like, uh what good does that do? You could be the best at getting off the line, but if you cant get the knee down in the turns, you're finishing last. Dudes a complete tool. He didn't believe I got 105 rear wheel hp from my R6, so when I showed him the dyno sheet (from the most reputable shop in the city) he says to me "
they must have their dyno set high to pump up business. Little bitch!

hp and tq numbers do mean a lot, however, proper gearing can go a long way in a race. what do the ZX10, GSXR1K, R1, and Buell run the 1/4 mile at in bone stock condition?

The Buell could be fun for the twisties due to the V-twin it's got. being able to keep midrange rpm and have massive pull in the turns is always nice. my next bike will be a twin, but i doubt it'll be a Buell. i'm just not a big fan of them. saw one sitting outside the harley dealership nearby and all i thought was "it's Johnny #5!" that's just what it reminded me of :D
