I know it is not an original question ,. but since I never saw something like that here I will ask :

HOW much can you bench ??

I weight 215 lbs and have 12.7 % bf . my height - 1,85 cm ( btw- how much is that in inches ? )

I have never been a strong guy when comes to bench presses , but today I did 275 lbs for 8 reps without any help from my partner ....this is my record ....I didn't know I could bench that much ....I spent a good time doing it with free weights , just started doing it again with barbells 2 months ago ..I was doing like 240 lbs before but I was doing with 10 reps flyes right after ....

so I know you guys can probably bench a lot more but I would like to know how much ??

Also , keep in mind that I don't use roids for 3 years , after 3 years without roids just started my cycle yesterday.

Victor

I hit 215, what a hoe, i gots to start somewhere. I changing my split Monday.

315 , damm that is a lot !

215 is not that bad bro !

do you guys know how to convert cm to inches so I can give you guys my height in inches ?

Victor

oh thx bro ,

72 inches = 6'1" ????

but how to convert that ???

Victor

btw- just to stay on topic , cmon guys let me know how much can you bench !

Victor

Not sure about my barbell max but I use 90's on flat for 8 reps. I know that's not much but hey I'm progressing all the time....

I lifted 400 for one rep once. I lifted with a powerlifter that day and we used his techniques. I had previously only lifted 300 once. So using powerlifting techniques added 100lbs. to my max bench. Lots of fun, not to mention motivating when your lifting with someone who weighs 380 and benches 800!

yep , we are all progressing :) , I hope I can bench 340 lbs with this cycle I just started ....

well , I hope ..

Victor

holy crap !!!!!!!!!!

400 lbs !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

you are one strong mofo !

on cycle i bench 335 for one, and 315 for 3. naturally i bench 315 for one.
im 5'3" and weigh 163pounds, about 8%bf

damn u weigh alot for a short guy, whats your measurements, maybe we could see some pics.
im 5'3" and tryin to hit 200 pounds in the next couple years.

I'm 5'9" , 195lbs, and 7%bf usually the bench workout consists of 275 3sets @ 6 reps done as much as 315 for 5 reps, give me another couple weeks and hopefully that'll go up, i know it's not the most impressive, but hey i'm not the largest guy on here.

wow, this is the first time i've seen this question asked where everyone didn't bench over 400 pounds for 10 reps!! people seem to exaqgerate their poundages when at home in front of the computer. But anyways, i don't even do straight bar, im a fan of dumbells, my gym only has them to 125, but i can do them for 8 reps easy on incline. Its all about the pump for me now, not the poundages. and BTW, im 6' tall and 237lbs, at 12-14% bodyfat right now.

5'10" 233lbs 16%Bf

DID 315 for 1 the other day Close grip!!

No idea how much I can do regular since I use Dumbells, but I do the 130's for 4 during 4th set.

I don't do regular benches because of an old shoulder injury.
But I do close grip benches without and problem. I close gripped
300 about 4 weeks ago at a bodyweight of 215, 5'-11".

I am 5'10" and 230 lbs...17% BF.

I am about 2 mos post cycle (sust/deca) and I can bench 315 for six reps.

two years ago, I did 425 for one!!!!

It has been down hill since!

It is strange, I am bigger now but not as strong. I would rather be huge and weak than small and strong! Just my take!
My toughest goal to overcome was getting 2 plates!
You guys are all stronger than 99% of the population!

Keep up the good work guys!

im 5'6 and weigh 195 and i just got into the 4 plate club my self i should be around a world record in a few months....forget dumb bells and the smith machine its all about the weight and who can lifet the most ...
i belong to a local power lifting club and we do show off meets all the time
you will not find a smaller man that can do as much as me on the flat bench..
you can concider me OLD SCHOOL babby flat bench,deads,squats...thats all there is to it..............i got all my gains from roids but dont kid your self roids wont help a fat man who sits on the couch you have to work your ASS off to gain so roids is in no way the road less traved by....any way lets talk shop...

I just recently started doing flat-bench again. I had been doing Inclines and then Flat dumbbell, but I decided I'd switch it back for my cycle that I'm on.

During my last chest workout I went up to 455 for 7 reps. It sounds big, but not for a 6'5", 310lb guy. Before I started using Inclines for my main chest builder, I did a max of 560, but I think I'm stronger now. I just need to get used to the flat bench again. My squats suck ass though.

I am 5-9 220. I can bench 435 with a bench shirt on. Most of the time I dont max out. I usually workout with 315 for 12-15 reps. I would like to catch up with my father one day who is in the 500 pound club, but he is 5-9 290 pounds. I am 24 and he is 46 and kicks my ass in every lift.

dude ur 5'5'' 200lbs w/ 5% bf?? HOLY FUCK.. gotta pic? thats awesome stats right there

Hmm..

Ive never really cared about stregth just for the simple fact that girls walking on the beach dont say , hOLY SHIT HE CAN BENCH 500 , im going to fuck his brains out. :)

Anyways im 20 510 18.5inch arms 220 can bench 320 for 6 clean right now :).

I am 6'2" 310 lbs, 30 years old. I maxed out tonight at 605 lbs (no shirt, no pause). I am pretty happy with this. My best max before this was 550, so I am making progress. I will be at an Ohio powerlifting meet the first weekend in Dec, so I feel pretty strong going into it.

Damn you guys are strong.

I'm 6'5" and weigh 260. Just hit my PR on bench yesterday with 315 for 6. I was happy but now I feel like hell after reading this thread. lol..

...bd

I never post on "these" posts, but since I am proud of my progress...

Considering I just recently returned to convention benching (bad shoulders-trying to get better) and I'm not on a cycle, I am happy with my progress.

Currently 5'10 and 210 and 12-15%, completely juice free since June.

**295 for 3 (previous week was 275 for 5), will try 305 Friday**

I returned to conventional (from db and hammer strength) about 3 months ago, no workout partner had me staying around 225-255 for 10-6 rep range, last 4 chest workouts I have trained with someone and have the confidence-spotter to work in the lower rep range, allowing for more weight.
I am not talking about a hands-on-the-bar spotter, I'm talking there if I need it and there for forced and negatives.

I suspect I will be upto 3 plates in a couple more weeks (and close to 4 on my next cycle), 365 was my best 1RM (at a weight of 242 and 10%), 315 was my work weight years back 10-8 rep range.

Not a big fan of conventional benching,
Rugger

well I can't max worth a shit , but I can rep 225 like a motherfucker! did 225 for 47 reps last cycle( earlier in the year did 225 for 43 and a bunch of the 90lbs weaklings called me a lyer...oh well I know I did it.!

465 4 reps close grip. Been stuck there now for over 8 weeks.
Going to go to clean & jerks and deads to try and break through.

6' 270lbs.

inmyprimeat39

my best one rep bench was 300lbs weighing at 177.......did 224 for 15...havn't maxed in a while!!! RADAR

max lift at 235lbs right now (weight 212). however, i was only doing 115lbs for 8 this time last year.

I'm really trying to focus on my chest right now. my shoulders and triceps are my saving grace.

515 X 1 rep (max)

435 X 7-8 reps is my usual heavy set , I dont typically max out, but just happened to do so 2 chest workouts ago and seen this thread so I thought id share

Your partner benches 800lbs, BULLSHIT!!!!!

You must work out with Anthony Clark and he's hit the 800 mark and nobody knows about it yet. lol

Adding 100lbs by using plifting techiques I can believe, although it is a stretch... But your partner does not bench 800. I think the record is 780 lbs. If your workout partner did 800, he would be one of the top power lifters.

I am 5'10 184lbs. The most I have done is 275 lbs twice.
Dumbells I have done 110lbs 5 times. Much stronger in dumbells for some reason.

Bro you got a long way to go.
If you diet down to 181 you'll have to add 200lbs to your bench.
If you bulk up to 198 you'll have to add 280lbs to your bench.
If you know of some sort of gear or training methods that will increase your lifts at that rate, fill us in.

Haven't maxed lately but:

1st set 315 for 10
2nd set 335 for 6
3rd set 365 for 2
4th set 225 failure at about 16

5'11" 230lbs

6 foot---------240 lbs
bench 275 for 10-12 reps
315 3-4 reps.
All my reps are clean with no cheating. I never maxed out in my life, so I couldn't tell you what I max!

not enough but i did lift 440Lbs @ 220Lbs

You guys set some pretty high goals for yourself. I'd be ecstatic to lift twice my bodyweight as a max...so would most of the world, for that matter. Only diehards wouldn't be impressed by that. :)

I can't even bench my weight yet. I'd be thrilled to SQUAT twice my weight. Oh, well...everything in due time.

5'10" - 235 lbs.

I did 405 lbs for 3 reps. I have been off for a couple of years due to injury.

Before my injury I did 465lbs.

at 5'7" and about 178 at 9-11%bf I lift about 225 for about 12 if I don't burn out before. I usually start with inclines though. Pretty good for a boxer huh?????

I don't do flat bench at all. Almost the entire free-weight portion of my workout is with dumbells. Umm, but I use the big'ns.

Im 6'1 205, put up 275 for 6 last week, 1 rep max is 315
This is 2 months after my cycle, im not happy...
I want to be repping 3 plates after my next cycle...

5"7 195

My personal best was 460 for a one rep max last year. I plan on entering into the 500 club this year hopefully within the next few weeks. Right now i am not tranning heavy but can hit 315 for 10-12 reps and 365 for 5-6 depending on how I feel. Never worked with a shirt but I am hoping to soon enter a contest. I am 23 years old and have only done two mild cycles. This next one should put me over. I will post my results and know I am not full of shit. Someone flammed me last time this question was asked.

My best:

Power-Lift Tournament/ 1 Rep: 680 lbs.
Training weight: Between 300 and 400 pounds.

Remember: Power lifting is as much PHYSICS as PHYSICALITY. Don't gauge your training success by a one-time lift. That's how people (especially you 'Roidheads) get hurt. And for God's sake: if you're gonna use 'roids, DON'T DON'T DON'T lift too heavy. When you stack, your muscles get stronger MUCH faster than your connective tissue and tendons. You can actually make your muscles strong enough to pop right off the bone. I've seen it happen...it's ugly as heck.

Heben und stark werden!

315 highest I've EVER gone... only got it up twice. For reps, I think I got 275 for around 8ish. Bench is a weak spot for me, my shoulder feels like it falls off after every workout... now I stick to dumbbells.

Man you have just entered the WRONG site. Warning, you are about to get flamed!

during my first cycle which was 250mg sust/week for 10 weeks and 300mg of deca/week for 10 weeks I was lifting heavy for low reps. I weighed 240 pounds at 5 feet 10 inches. I got up 520 pounds and haven't tried heavier since then because of the stress it put on my tendons. On my next cycle I should get stronger. - cbeaks

bench

196 6'1" 16%BF

Last I check when I did flat bench before switching to dumbbells I was at 250lbs. Thats my record... I know its not much but I gotta start somewhere.

I'm 31 yrs old @ 215lbs my working sets are 315-320 for 3sets of 8. Did 400 for 2 about a month ago but usually don't do 1 rep maxs. No juice so far.

Yeah sure, there's no steroids in Powerlifting. Ever read Powerlifting USA? They have a Q&A column on gear.

Hey bro, you're forgetting about Greg Kovacs!!

My post stands as written. If you know of someone that has benched 800 in a sanctioned meet you should inform PowerMagOnline.com, and Powerlifting USA because they don't seem to know about it.

I'm no powerlifter, but I did 315 for 5. This is my PB, bc I could never bench 3 plates to save my life. Been waiting to join the 300# club. Now I'm here on my 5th week on test/deca. I luv this shit!!! :p :p :p :p

John Woe LOL I hear ya. Some of these people should actually go to a few meets and see how rare 500+ benchers are. I'd get a good laugh at a squat poll.

I'm 5'3, 160lbs and I don't claim to be very strong, but I can bench 2 plates (225) for 10-15 reps, depending on the day.
I don't know what my max is, but every once in a while I try to see how many times I can get up 2 1/2 plates (275). Last time was for 6 with no spotter (about a month ago).

sounds like you bench just over 315 for max. ive got the same stats and i bench about the same as u for 2 plates

keep up the good work, i get told im a freak, so that should make u a freak too.:D

p.s. someone give me some karma

I throw up a mean 135 the other HELL YEAH

not bad at 5'10" 260 and 12%

oh wait you said bench press not penis curls

xmooulton508x, you are full of shit my friend! I love these damn threads, I hope everyone who lied feels better about themselves since you can TELL people you bench 400+. Anyways, i'd be willing to bet half of the people who responded couldn't put up over 335lbs! And 800lbs. WTF, i doubt it bro

and my trusty HP 48G says your height is exactly 6.03674540683 ft meaning you are 6 ft tall within the real of significant figures.

6"1 weighs 250-260 in the beginninh of my bulking cycle.
Benches about 400 pounds have done 320 for 6 reps natural (almost:) Probably gonna bench about 450 in the end of the cycle.
But I very rarely bench, prefer dumbbels.

Hey genarr3.....the greg kovacs thing was a joke bro, hence the litttle purple laughing smileys. I was putting that up there for all the people that talk about how his claims are bullshit, I know no one's officially done 800
