I'm going to differ with you on this one based on my own experience. Once I developed a sensitivety to AIMF It caused a rash in any area I had EVER used it even if I rotated sites. A 2 week layoff helped greatly. If he has elevated histamine levels from the gear and a sensitivity to AIMF then the topical could cause flare-ups in non-use areas.
After my reaction to AIMF I don't think anyone should assume it is not the problem. It is such a great product that it is worth it to take a short layoff! When the rash get's bad it can take weeks to clear up and my histamine levels stayed elevated for 3 weeks.
I use it now every few days with only minor problems....if I use it 2-3 days in a row I start to get the rash on EVERY site I have ever used it on! Just my experience......

I am familiar with your experience.
It's not the problem.
AIFM has never caused full body hives in anyone. In the 11 months it's been out. Using a seed oil that one might be allergic to does and HAS caused full body hives. He's using a new UG gear. The maker probably uses oils he shouldn't.
Even your experience, and you're the most sensitive case, did not result in hives in places you didn't use it. And I'm betting it didn't result in hives ANYWHERE but rather a rash as you posted here. It's never caused hives.

True. Like I said though I kept on using the AIMF for a few days and wish I had backed off as soon as I had the first symptom. The Aromasin I use most of the time now is not nearly as effective as AIMF. My main point was that if he has elevated histamine levels he should be careful with any topical product until those levels return to normal.

If you are using a UG lab make sure you know what oil base they are using, some people are allergic to grape seed or seasame oils.

agree. just to be on the safe side, histamine is not specific and any kind of irritant may cause a further reaction.

note- also agree that aromasin is generally not as effective as AIFM. This is likely due to the fact that its 6-methylated (necessary for its oral bioavailablily but decreasing its affinity) also its lack of inhibition of 5-beta reductase.

note2- also agree that the hives are likely due to a reaction with either the oil or a solubilizing agent (such reactions are fairly common with both in prone individuals). Ester based reactions while uncommon are also a possibility. Could also be a contaminent to which he has an allergy (so not necessarily presenting in others)

I just talked to my source and he uses cottenseed oil in all of his gear.......and he said he has never had a complaint like this before...

Right. Allergens can also compound to get a reaction. You can be mildly allergic to peanuts and beer and if you don't mix them you're fine.
Then you go to a ballgame, mix the two, and you get hives.

The third consideration should be you ate something you're allergic to.
But just to be certain...
Open a fresh pin and lightly (no blood) make a small scratch on your inner forearm with it. Then put a drop of the gear on the scratch. Let it sit for about 5 min. See what happens.
i will give this a try tonight ......thanks.
is this a pretty common oil in gear?
