congrats on your first poke!

BUT, do yourself a favor, and next time you draw out your oil, turn the syringe upside down (needle pointing to the sky) and then push all the air outta the syringe.... do it slowly and a little drop of oil will come out the top of the needle and run down the length to help lube it up. goes in a little easier and you dont' ahve to worry about injecting air.

ONE time i forgot to push the air out before i jabbed and as i was injecting i was like OMG i forgot to get the air out... then i thought i would just stop when the oil was done. i was shooting my delt, so i was able to watch closely, and as i pushed, the last drop of oil went in and IMMEDIATLY after like 1/4cc of air pushed in as well. freaked me the fuck out. the oil is a LOT thicker than air, so it takes more pressure to get the oil through... once your just pushing AIR, it goes in REAL REAL quick when your pushing with the same pressure you were to get the oil in.

so, like i said, just tip the syringe back and shoot the air out. its worth it for your peace of mind

yeah, i tried that ....but i felt too much oil was coming out and i did not want to waste anymore than i probably already had by filling 9ml or so of each this time around. so i just was REAL careful....i don't think i got even 1/4 CC of air. but i got a little. i hope to have that part (the main part i fucked up) down pat next time. and even though i'm "not scared" i'm gonna sit on the bed for a few minutes instead of getting up to walk it off. because like mentioned anxiety type panic will hit you even when you feel confident. it was funny because i was ten time more pissed than scared due to the problem of drawing out of the vial, as well i guess the needle is too small for drawing?? so it was kinda funny, never thought anger would replace nervousness. and that oil is pretty thick....sust/eq doesn't seem as bad as what others have reported with some oils though.

Warbird, how could you do this?

When I started to read this tread I was a little scared you might have hurt you're self.

Next time be sure there is NO air inside the syringe, some air in your muscle will not harm you. But if you put in approx 1cc air into a vain, you're in 'dead' serious trouble.

Take your time filling the syringe, take out any air bubbles, even if it takes several minutes. I you need to have more info how to fill the syringe correctly, PM me.

first time also..

I put on some P.O.D 'youth of a nation' and just made sure i had the correct area of the glute and let it rip. didnt hurt at all, but once it was all the way in my hand was shaking badly. everything went fine. Actually on friday when i withdrew the needle i got a small lump on the injection site, it went away after about 10 minutes, but what was that from? and is it normal?

yeah, had a CC of air and 2 CC of gear. so i just stopped short of the air up top after injecting the 2CC of gear. i heard the air push out, and could see the gear end. so not much if any air got in.

Bro, you're kidding right? You need to shoot that air out of the syringe before injecting! Load your gear, let it sit for a bit so the bubbles can combine, point the syringe straight up, and squeeze ALL the air out. Let a bit of oil follow the air out of the needle. You're not going to miss a few drops, and they will help to lube the pin for your inject.

When you have inserted the needle at the injection point, before you inject make sure you aspirate and make sure no blood is drawn into the syringe. No blood = shoot. Blood = pull out and retry.

Shooting with a syringe with any significant amount of air in it is an easy way to kill yourself.

haha. i know guys....i was extra careful to watch the air and inject very slow till i hit the CC of air and stopped. then i pushed ever slightly and heard the air psssst for a split sec then stopped. so pretty much no air got in. i won't do it again, trust me. i got no lump or anything and the pain isn't bad at all, just minor discomfort....i wonder why i didn't get the big time pain and lump most everyone complains about. maybe the EQ with sust helped with that. it was pretty easy....may go 3 times a week...not sure yet though. figure that out next week i guess. really want to do 750 per week...but two injects is so much easier.

Reading several of these went a long way towards educating me about the injection process. I can't remember the addys for the ones I have, but a broad search off of yahoo containing "intramuscular" "injection" and "immunization" should yield some results for you...

When I started, I didn't have any option but to do it myself so I made sure I knew what I was doing... I was pretty intimidated by needles at the time, so I think that made me extra careful... There's a lot of good information/pictures/graphics in some of those immunization manuals...
