Why are you being all defensive and stuff? It's just an observation, which I only made because it seems that you are the one who appears disappointed at the turnout/enthusiasm/etc. of this thread.

This is an internet message board. No one can see faces or body language; only words. It's not uncommon that what we write is taken differently by others: in context, attitude, meaning, intent, humor, et cetera. I'm guilty of this quite often, which is why I integrated the use of smileys and "lol" to my online writing. (Incidentally, this removal of the human/body language element is what lead to the use of smiles way back in the early days of the internet.)

It's just part of the world of written communication that no one is immune to.
