I'm arguing that it is no different than staff personally editing people's posts. I think I'm thinking of an event involving this that no one else remembers, though, so I'm not going to get very far.

My other question is "to what end" does a board hyperlink? I've seen some pretty awful-looking sites with tons of autolinking spam all over the place. What if George wants to hyperlink "hawt" to a porn site? There's multiple pornographic forums here, if you weren't aware. I certainly don't think George would ever do that -- it's called a hypo.
