Do you believe in Telekinesis?

I didn't like that method to test, Nordstrom. Even tho the odds of rolling were included, it just seems far-fetched using dice and the total randomness they create.

but

Further tests demonstrated that when subjects were aiming for a
particularly pleasing target (eg. double six) results were better [3],

i.e., if you want 12, your odds of getting 12 are greater than chance. if you want higher than 7, your odds of getting above 7 are greater than chance.

true.

but it's done with dice. DICE!!! Just that thought screams "uncontrolled experiment". knaw mean?

I guess they chose that medium cus they think they can control the variables.

Do you believe man (humans) are capable of achiving this feat? Do you think it exists in the world?

They already have acheived this feat in a different time and era as a civilization.
It does exist today, although it is shunned as being a freak because of the general close-mindedness of the general popualation.

easy.

Excellent replies! I'm so glad there are a select few of you on this board that are open minded.

Natural Selection has to come into play sometime in the future. I agree that technology has shunned it a bit, however as more and more humans come onto this earth with the same close minded thinking as the general population, there's going to be a time where the smart ones are going to get sick of helping the slower ones or a disease that only strikes at certian charaters in DNA. Natual selection has been a part of this world for Billions of years, the last 30 years of technology isn't a strong enough force to change that.

I personally hope for a mutation, basically because until it becomes wide spread and the smart people tell the dumb ones "yes this can happen" only then will society change and become more open minded.

What I don't understand is humans can believe in a god that they can't prove exists and there hasn't been a mesiah in 2000 years to help prove it yet they still believe. Yet you ask certian questions and people tell you it can't be done.

Fear that's why, fear of death.... It's humanities biggest fear basically because it's still the unknown. Anything unknown is programed in our heads to be fearful. So they devise this huge plan that God created man, and when you die you go to heaven..... Ask a co-worker if life exists other then this planet, those that say no are fools (just because of your close mind). Is the Universe infinate? If not then whats at the end to nothing? Most people don't even challege themselves to try and answer these questions to even themselves. You ask those questions to a normal person they shun you as a geek, or a freak. Just because you're open minded.... That's going to be the down fall of america (AKA modern day Rome)

we only use 10% of our brain.. imagine we could use 100%? The possibilities would be endless... anyone see akira?

We are using 100% of our brain.

What Does it Mean to Use Only 10% of Your Brain?
What data were used to come up with the number - 10%? Does this mean that we would be just fine if 90% of our brains was removed? If the average human brain weighs 1,400 grams (about 3 lb) and 90% of it was removed, that would leave 140 grams (about 0.3 lb) of brain tissue. That's about the size of a sheep's brain. It is well-known that damage to a relatively small area of the brain, like that caused by a stroke, may cause devastating disabilities. Certain neurological disorders, like Parkinson's Disease, also affect only specific areas of the brain. The damage caused by these conditions is far less than damage to 90% of the brain.

The 10% statement may have been started with a misquote of Albert Einstein or the misinterpretation of the work of Pierre Flourens in the 1800s. It may have been William James who wrote in 1908: "We are making use of only a small part of our possible mental and physical resources" (from The Energies of Men, p. 12). Perhaps it was the work of Karl Lashley in the 1920's and 1930's that started it. Lashley removed large areas of the cerebral cortex in rats and found that these animals could still relearn specific tasks. We now know that destruction of even small areas of the human brain can have devastating effects on behavior. That is one reason why neurosurgeons must carefully map the brain before removing brain tissue during operations for epilepsy or brain tumors: they want to make sure that essential areas of the brain are not damaged.

Indians had levitation, Native american indians were thought to be able to have this ablity to control certain objects, like mummy making perhaps the training was lost thoughout the years.

I saw a report on levitating recently. It was just unbelievable, the indian was half a meter above the ground and it was shown tha nothing was underneath him. I didn´t know how he had done it, but luckily they said it in the report lateron.
This guy had a little stick which he held with his hands, obviously not with enough effort to lift that way.
They reaveled that in reality it was a steel pipe which lead to a buried plat in the ground that was connected to another plate on which he sat. It wasn´t vivsible due to his long cloths.

What i learned from that is that just because i don´t see a logical explanation right away it doesn´t mean there is one.
BTW. indians where fooled by that trick a long time so i don´t feel stupid now.

oops, i´m a bit unconcentrated lately. I meant "doesn´t mean there isn´t one" instead of what i wrote above.

the levitation thing done by david blaine is easily explained by lots of websites and my friend has personally done it and photographed it. I believe when they say 10% of our brain is being used only 10% of its potential. There are tons of areas of the brain that we have no idea what there function is for ect... People are so quick to say something is not true impossible ect when at the same time they pray to a god they have no reason for knowing exists ect. Just about anything can be possible.
