Do you believe in Telekinesis?

Do you believe man (humans) are capable of achiving this feat? Do you think it exists in the world, Many of you at one time bored has tried to move an object with thought so it's not that unbelivable since you tried it you had to partialy believe it true.
If not, why? With man learning at a rate faster then ever do you see a mutation forming which will allow certian people to achieve a higher degree of thought? It's not that far fetched, with the introduction of Quantum Physics the doors are being unlocked, they can now teleport certian atoms from one spot to another, they can clone human beings, we are starting to understand the DNA structure of our body Christ we are making minature black holes in labs. How long before they can change DNA to allow more mental thought? Does it bother you knowing that you're only using 10% of your brain?

Do most people think on this level or are the general population happy with living out a routine thinking they are not capable of anything but living, procreating, and dying?

Why not? Quantum Physics tells us that nothing is impossible. It all depends if you belive in Quantum Physics or not. I believe the general population lives their lifes out without much thought towards expanding the mind, I believe they are lazy and take for granted the little mind power then evolution has allowed them.

I tried moving this thread with just my mind and it didn't work.

LOL!!!

Anyway, quantum experiments have shown that brain waves do have an effect on the outcome of any experiment.

Expanding the mind is one thing - that's what ganja is for. Deleloping the mind to the extend that it overcomes the laws of thermodynamics is another, ie - the force that acts upon another to move it from it's stationary poistion - that force being the mind.

Here's my thought, In the not so distant future I believe there will be another separation of humans similar to the Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon humans of our early evolution. Some humans are happy with living their lifes with minimal thought depending on technology created by "smarter" humans to help them though life. These people don't understand the technology or want to. They are happy using the simplistic interfaces created for them and will only use less and less thought process during the day. The people that use less and less thought thoughout the day will just become drones and won't be able to anything more then manual labor. While a race of humans capable of utilizing more thought will become leaders. Or maybe I watch too much Sci-Fi.

Is it that far fetched? Indians had levitation, Native american indians were thought to be able to have this ablity to control certain objects, like mummy making perhaps the training was lost thoughout the years.

David Blane the magician can do that as well. Again, levitation, imo, is not within the realm of possibilities.

Some cultures placed money on the eyelids of the dead to pay the toll to Charon the boatsman.

Mummy making is a little different.

The lack of participation in this thread proves my theory. When certian people ask advanced questions in this forum only a select few even attempt to answer the questions. The others have no clue about it or don't want to show their ignorance about the topic so they decide to not participate . But ask about Wal-Mart and there's dozens of responses. It's the dumbing of america. People (in general) are too lazy and stupid to even try something advanced so they give up before they even attempt the feat.

maybe not in our lifetime, but as we evolve and use more of our brain capacity I don't see why it's not possible. 1000 years from now if humanity isn't dead you never know what can happen.

Want further proof???

Start a thread that contains "schlong, taco and balls" in it and see how many looks it gets.

Seriuosly try it. Starta thread called "The taco, balls, my schlong, and me".

I already know the outcome. I don't need further proof that the general population are morons. The opposite is also true for advanced threads, intelligent posts get fewer views and responses.
I don't want to come off holier then thou but the more and more I interact with people the more and more I think our society is doomed and I'm smarter then the average human. Some people don't know how to files taxes, make fire with sticks, grow vegetables, etc, most rely on people that were breeded for those specific tasks (famers breed for farm help and the kids learn the way) ( parents push children into college to persure a carreer)..... The jack of all trades person is becoming a thing of the past.

i dont know about telekenesis, but i know some indian guy in the 70's in a real experiment made something burn out of thin air, it's documented im sure you can find it somewhere. So that would be pyrokenesis. And yeah it's weird how we use a small part of our brain, ever get real hi and start thinking of things that you realize you shouldn't think any further into because you're brain is literally starting to hurt trying to comprehend it as it is?

Yes, and it's very real.

r = | (x1 - x2)^2 + (y1 - y2)^2 + (z1 - z2)^2 | ^ (1/2) .

we only use 10% of our brain.. imagine we could use 100%? The possibilities would be endless... anyone see akira?

maybe not

survival of the fittest doesnt come into play so much nowadays....before if you had a clear advantage genetically etc, it would benefit you and as a result you would procreate more and your DNA would become more widespread

we care medically for people with genetic diseases (i.e. diabetes, cystic fibrosis etc)....these people would be dead unless we provided care for them. also if we have ever needed an advantage in a situation we have built something to do it...technology has partly removed the need fopr us to have an advantage

finally, women wouldnt necessarily procreate with someonewith the best traits for survival anyway. who gets laid more, the hyper-intelligent prodigy child of a rocket scientist or the guy who frequents strip bars 99% of his time nad makes his money in a crime syndicate :)

I can't say that Telekinesis doesn't exst, b/c when I was a kid I used to dream about things before they would happen(no I'm not full of shit).

It was almost always something small and insignifigant and I couldn't give a prediction for it, but it would come to me like 5-10 seconds(sometimes earlier) before it would happen.

It was mostly little things like a conversation or someone dropping something.

The biggest thing that I remember was one time I was in a swing and my dad was spinning me around and it came to me that the swing was going to break, and I was going to hit my head and it was going to mess up my vision and thats exactly what happend. I even had time to tell him exactly what was going to happen.

The worst word in the human language is CAN'T... all our lives all we hear is we can't do this and that... it's not "normal".

we're jumping on the bed as kids, parents say u can't do that, humans can't fly.

well how the fuck do you think past civilizations were able to build shit like pyramids, Stone Henge, those massive stone heads on Easter Island.... they weren't no aliens. humans just like you and me.

don't underestimate yourselves. I see it happen everyday.

I didn't like that method to test, Nordstrom. Even tho the odds of rolling were included, it just seems far-fetched using dice and the total randomness they create.

but

Further tests demonstrated that when subjects were aiming for a
particularly pleasing target (eg. double six) results were better [3],

i.e., if you want 12, your odds of getting 12 are greater than chance. if you want higher than 7, your odds of getting above 7 are greater than chance.

true.

but it's done with dice. DICE!!! Just that thought screams "uncontrolled experiment". knaw mean?

I guess they chose that medium cus they think they can control the variables.

They already have acheived this feat in a different time and era as a civilization.
It does exist today, although it is shunned as being a freak because of the general close-mindedness of the general popualation.

easy.

Excellent replies! I'm so glad there are a select few of you on this board that are open minded.

Natural Selection has to come into play sometime in the future. I agree that technology has shunned it a bit, however as more and more humans come onto this earth with the same close minded thinking as the general population, there's going to be a time where the smart ones are going to get sick of helping the slower ones or a disease that only strikes at certian charaters in DNA. Natual selection has been a part of this world for Billions of years, the last 30 years of technology isn't a strong enough force to change that.

I personally hope for a mutation, basically because until it becomes wide spread and the smart people tell the dumb ones "yes this can happen" only then will society change and become more open minded.

What I don't understand is humans can believe in a god that they can't prove exists and there hasn't been a mesiah in 2000 years to help prove it yet they still believe. Yet you ask certian questions and people tell you it can't be done.

Fear that's why, fear of death.... It's humanities biggest fear basically because it's still the unknown. Anything unknown is programed in our heads to be fearful. So they devise this huge plan that God created man, and when you die you go to heaven..... Ask a co-worker if life exists other then this planet, those that say no are fools (just because of your close mind). Is the Universe infinate? If not then whats at the end to nothing? Most people don't even challege themselves to try and answer these questions to even themselves. You ask those questions to a normal person they shun you as a geek, or a freak. Just because you're open minded.... That's going to be the down fall of america (AKA modern day Rome)

We are using 100% of our brain.

What Does it Mean to Use Only 10% of Your Brain?
What data were used to come up with the number - 10%? Does this mean that we would be just fine if 90% of our brains was removed? If the average human brain weighs 1,400 grams (about 3 lb) and 90% of it was removed, that would leave 140 grams (about 0.3 lb) of brain tissue. That's about the size of a sheep's brain. It is well-known that damage to a relatively small area of the brain, like that caused by a stroke, may cause devastating disabilities. Certain neurological disorders, like Parkinson's Disease, also affect only specific areas of the brain. The damage caused by these conditions is far less than damage to 90% of the brain.

The 10% statement may have been started with a misquote of Albert Einstein or the misinterpretation of the work of Pierre Flourens in the 1800s. It may have been William James who wrote in 1908: "We are making use of only a small part of our possible mental and physical resources" (from The Energies of Men, p. 12). Perhaps it was the work of Karl Lashley in the 1920's and 1930's that started it. Lashley removed large areas of the cerebral cortex in rats and found that these animals could still relearn specific tasks. We now know that destruction of even small areas of the human brain can have devastating effects on behavior. That is one reason why neurosurgeons must carefully map the brain before removing brain tissue during operations for epilepsy or brain tumors: they want to make sure that essential areas of the brain are not damaged.

I saw a report on levitating recently. It was just unbelievable, the indian was half a meter above the ground and it was shown tha nothing was underneath him. I didn´t know how he had done it, but luckily they said it in the report lateron.
This guy had a little stick which he held with his hands, obviously not with enough effort to lift that way.
They reaveled that in reality it was a steel pipe which lead to a buried plat in the ground that was connected to another plate on which he sat. It wasn´t vivsible due to his long cloths.

What i learned from that is that just because i don´t see a logical explanation right away it doesn´t mean there is one.
BTW. indians where fooled by that trick a long time so i don´t feel stupid now.

oops, i´m a bit unconcentrated lately. I meant "doesn´t mean there isn´t one" instead of what i wrote above.

the levitation thing done by david blaine is easily explained by lots of websites and my friend has personally done it and photographed it. I believe when they say 10% of our brain is being used only 10% of its potential. There are tons of areas of the brain that we have no idea what there function is for ect... People are so quick to say something is not true impossible ect when at the same time they pray to a god they have no reason for knowing exists ect. Just about anything can be possible.
