Deadlifts

So if you really are that good don't waste your life being something else, train hard, smart and be part of weightlifting history, only a few of us are going to be remembered till the end of times anyway!

I'll be remembered. But only for my dashing good looks.

I don't agree with that first sentence. If 'would' was changed to 'should' then you might have a point.

Not everybody lifts just to prove they are stronger than the next guy. Not everybody does it for recognition. Some just do it to compete against themselves. Others because it helps in their job etc.

I could also make the point that powerlifting feds are fk'd up. All that different equipment in different feds. Ridiculous. Even if you are top dog in most feds many don't respect you. What would competing accomplish?

Not a hater but someone who is confident enough about himself with these marks would clearly be competeing! Still deadlifts 3 inches below knees are rack pulls, wanna know your max strength potential on any lift? Don't go past 13-14 reps that way you won't be converting any fyber that potentially would become fast twitch into slow twitch. Now here is a good example about someone who had great potential but didn't have what it took to be a champion belgian Serge Reding:

YouTube - Serge Redding - 502lb. (228kg.) Clean & Press

few minutes later... Vasily Alexeev

YouTube - Vasily Alexeev - 230kg. (507lb.) Clean & Press

Alexeev talking about Reding and other comments:

"Even Alexeyev once said of him, "If I had his huge muscles there's no telling what I could accomplish!"

" Many people are convinced that Serge Reding, the incredibly massive Belgian weighlifter, was physically capable of beating Alexeyev. He broke several of Alexeyev's records in minor contests and many felt he would be the next champion. But every time he went head to head against Alexeyev he seemed to choke and failed to duplicate his record lifts. I have been talking to several international lifters who confirm that Serge was certainly the strongest of that time. Even Alexeyev used to state that Reding was the strongest man in the world at the time. But he always said that he had the stronger mind and that he would defeat Reding every time (what he actually mostly did).

"

"...do 2 reps with 180 kg (396lbs) seated neck-press, starting out of the neck. In squatting I know about easy 330 kg (726lbs) squats but some people claim to have seen even more spectacular results. Some people tell they saw him him do FULL squats during the early 1970s for 5 reps with 400kg (880lbs) with no wraps, suit or belt."

"Should" sounds like bossy, "Would" defies and challenges that's why my choice.

Someone who does his workouts based on squats, deads and bench clearly means business.

There are other competions than powerlifting with equipment, strongman competions, raw powerlifting and olympiclifting.

I don't have any issue with equipment. Far from it. Just wish there was some consistency about it all.

Bro, Im not wasting my life. I travel around the world doing feats of strength and watching people change there life threw something I have said or done. For me lifting big and doing something that said cant be done is bigger than a trophy I could win at a competition. Don't have to compete for people to remember me.

This is awesome. I really admire that.

I know a guy who used to travel with a christian power team. They would travel around the country and perform feats of strength.

congrats on your progress and thank you for sharing your routine with us.
