I have a similar streak. Religion served a purpose in our development and it's pure folly to think we can just shirk it off without consequences.

I'll also admit I sometimes can't resist a religious joke though.

Odd how I find some material offensive [even in the context of a comedy skit] without any particular religious ties and yet can effortless cast repeated aspersions upon your sechual orientation without experiencing any moral anguish :confused:

Yup. It's odd to me how some specific things can touch a nerve.

I really don't like anything that is pejorative toward veterans.

Religious jokes bother me because I know religion plays a role in society, but I can't personally connect with it (I'm an atheist).

I think gay jokes are fair game to me because of the cultural push that some gay activists have employed. I know there are evangelical Christians out there, but the atheists and gays seem far more evangelical (at least in my own experience).
