The other idea that comes to mind is more pills. I used to workout at 5:30 am because it was the only time. Then we started working with client at the other end of the country and I moved the workouts to 9pm or 10pm and take some sleeping pills right after to sleep (because I'm too worked up).

I can only imagine your drive too. Nothing worse than Atlanta traffic
 
AM workouts with a home gym work wonders for me, I have a treadmill and free weights. Saves me 30 minutes round trip travel time to the gym everyday, in those 30 minutes 2/3 of my workout is done. With work(30 hours), classes(18 credits), studing and clincal hours(15 hrs), 30 minutes means a hell of alot on most days. I happy to get a day of ever couple weeks.

amen brother!!! this is what am looking to do next....a home gym will shave off 30min each way to the gym that I can spend working out instead of worrying about gettin there and back, plus thinking about work stuff...where do I find good home gym (free weights based)???
 
I work on an electronic stock exchange and I typically put in 12 hours a day with no breaks - It's 7PM Friday and I'm still here pluggin away...

The thing I do is get my MIND fired up by focusing on the workout from the moment I leave until I get to the gym. I'll do the same set routine in getting to the gym, and by the time I get theer my body knows that it's time to perform.

ALSO: If you are doing 5x5 type workouts you are getting in 110-140 workouts for the entire body each year - some are going to be heavy and intense and some are going to be easy - just take it on the chin if you are having a weak day!

I bought mine a dicks, its an olympic bench and and free weights, and I bought a few extra plates for around 400. I think I should have bought a cage, but this works for now.
