You remember him? That was in(2004)and his class was going to DC as their field trip to expose them to the democracy process and political fields. (It was an election year that year). His school assignment was to find 5 people to donate a small amount (under $5) to his trip and in exchange he would mail each of them a postcard from DC with a personal note on it.
There were so many people from EF that donated. I mean like... 40-50 that it actually covered the entire cost of his trip and for another girl to go that would have been unable to do so because her parents couldn't afford to send her.
He had a couple of busy nights writing so many thank you postcards to be mailed from there. But a lot of people didn't want to get a postcard, so he wrote the username of everyone who donated on a T-Shirt and wore it to Arlington Cemetery. He bought a stuffed animal and had a list of everyone on a sheet of paper as well that he left behind as well.
The first two pics is from Arlington with his Thank you shirt. You can see the stuffed animal in the bottom left. The last pic is one of himself and I a year afterwards.
Yes mate i remember as it was more how much you put yourself out for him and how much effort you put in. Also had to set up a PayPal account to get you the money. Do remember the postcard as remember saying don't post as cost of sending overseas.
Wow 2004 and some of those names bring back memories.
Glad all went well keep up the good work mate
