I worked as a landscaper for 5 years during college. The damn border jumpers would live 12 in a house and work 70 hour weeks. They'd take more hours, too, if the boss would let them. That business could not have offered the service it did at the price it did without these workers. Did that mean that less "Americans" were hired? You bet your ass it did. Because the "Americans" were too egotistical to accept that they were not that valuable of a commodity. If they would have been willing to put in the same work ethic at the same price, they would have been employed.

Besides not everyone was "the smartest guy in college" like you said you were. Attaining marketable skills may not be entirely possible for them. What career offers security and very good pay?

You are a hacker/cracker from my understanding. Sure there is strong demand for breaking into the data banks of competitors and the like but I'm not sure I'd brag about my profession.

The only people who truly benefit from maximum competition from overseas is the power elite. Plus we have people who see themselves becoming members of the power elite and they will approve. Plus you have a few professions who limit the number of people they will train and keep their wages up.

They will be outsourced one day. Many producer are now coming to Montreal. Something that I couldn't imagine 15 years ago. Why ? Cause it's cheaper to produce a movie here. You pay your staff in Canadian dollar (well most of them), same with the equipement and the studio you rent. That's the good side of having a a cheap ass dollar.

I was not the smartest guy in my college. when I was in the business school for my first two years, I was one of the best in that department. when I switched and tried to get a degree in math in two years, I got the degree but started to realize my humanity. I went to grad school for less than a year in computer science. I was arrogant enough to believe I could survive. I was thoroughly outclassed by foreign students at that time.

Also, I do not know the first thing about security, which is why I think you may be confusing me with code? I am a programmer/developer/administrator. I have been since I got laid of/downsized in July. When my company laid me off, I took my clients with, found a few new ones, and went into business for myself. Like I said, if you want job security, find a marketable skill set.

I'm having trouble understanding your logic here. The way it seems from what you said is that 4% of the total amount of taxes collected is from the bottem 50%. That does not mean only 4% of the people in the bottem 50% pay taxes, it just means out of all the money collected from the bottem 50%, it only makes up 4% of the total collected. And this is true because the more money you make, the more money your taxed. Once you make over a certain amount, close to 50% of your income goes to taxes as opposed to the poor who pay very little taxes in terms of percentages.

There are also benefits to being an American citizen, one of which is free handouts if you need them..even if you do not pay into the system. But...if an illegal happens to get hurt on the job..he can sue his employer and the employer can get in trouble for hiring them. Most of these damn illegals dont speak a word of english anyway....i wouldnt mind them as much if they atleast attempted to learn our language...instead these damn liberals make everything easy for them by putting everything in Spanish.
