Why is it society's desire to provide for the existence of a criminal who has committed such a crime, simply because some deem jail as worse? This costs money and is a burden on society. Do away with them and get on with life. The death penalty is the ultimate elimination of a serious problem.

The death penalty is committing the same immoral act. How can that be logical? The government is doing the same thing that they are punishing the person for.

You missed the crux of my argument. It is homogeneity that is the reason for less gun related crimes. The more you are like a person, the less likely you will have a reason to hate them. It has nothing to do with ethnicity.

Yes, it is the excuse of situational ethics. The action and intent are the only critical components of judging a situation, both are morally wrong in the above article, so the guilty should be tried to the fullest extent of the law.



This is still excuses. We didn't accept this in the Nuremburg Trials, we should not accept this in small groups such as this case. Each person is a moral agent and must be accountable for his/her choices and actions. Arguing "group mentality" will excuse a slew of horrible actions.

Hey 2thick, just out of curiosity, what are the racial demographics of Montreal? I haven't been able to find them.

I do not have exact numbers, but there is a sizable French-Canadian majority. Next in line would be the Anglophone (English-speaking) minority. There are large numbers of immigrant groups (consisting of first and later generations) including the Italians, Greeks, Haitian, Arab, and East-Indian. There is also a large Jewish community. The main religion in Montreal is Roman Catholic followed by Protestants.

The language breakdown is roughly 65%-70% Francophone (or French as their mother tongue), 20-25% Anglophone and the the rest are Alophones (or a primary language other than French or English).

1st WHY THE FUCK should some LOUSY ass parent be held accountable???THey didn't beat the man to death...Sure they might be pieces of shit parents but they didn't do the crime...

That also problem NUMERO UNO...THis country has a bad problem with just passing or adding on blame to account for problems...Just like the business in america "accounting" for the who's at fault needs to go directly to who directly is at fault....No more of this Oh well if they were a better parent or Oh if they had done this or that...Oh BULLSHIT PEOPLE....The facts are that bad parents exsist, hell some of us had bad parents and we dont go around and bash people in....Ok well some here probably do, but in the civilized world kids of all ages know whats right and wrong.

Next I think I dont know the full extent of the story to say if things truely went down like that. But had things happened the way the story says then I would give every last one of those little bastards the death penalty. If they were convicted of murder. Now had some of them been fighting to defend themselves then no I wouldn't have any problem with letting them walk scott free but a judge, lawyers, and jury def need to look into this


And finally those who are convicted of murder here should fry...No crying about oh but they are so youg...Bla bla bla....At least my state doesn't let scum live so easily. Why should tax payers pay to keep alive some piece of shit who doesn't contribute shit to society except eating and sleeping away tax dollars, or hell using tax dollars to get an education???Fuck that shit.

It's time to take away the rights of the criminals and giving those rights back to the victims...
