this is why we should always have dividers on fast roads. so many many die in rural areas (esp canada where u rarely have them) cuz theres's no dividers. just the govt being cheap.

you owuld've died in that unless you had a big ass truck. which is why my kids will always drive trucks. way safer. fuck the ntsb and their tests. a hummer will always be safer than a geo metro.

I refuse to look at pitures like that. When I was a kid, probably 7, I seen a car go under a semi-trailor. Next thing I remember was two heads rolling down the fucking highway. That still haunts me to this day. I hate riding in small cars, I will never own one for that matter. that is why I drive a tank!

Someone in a Suburban or a Super Duty would have fared just as badly. A big truck is a very massive object compared to any consumer vehicle.

But if a big truck runs into a concrete bridge abuttment, the driver will look about like that guy in the VW.

So driving a small car does not matter...

As some have pointed out speed and weight are definitely important factors. However, I still maintain that that dude would have a better chance of surviving had he been driving a larger vehicle.

Jesus...don't scare me. My car is smaller than that. Although I think there are airbags everywhere but I'm not quite sure of the accident ratings on my car..
