What do others at the gym do that pisses you off?

just because the 10's arnt a big deal for you do esnt mean it isnt alot of work for someone else. you may grunt curling the 50's, but for someone that isnt as strong as you but still tries to push their limits they feel it necessary to grunt with the 10's.

I wasn't putting anyone down for using 10's - more so the fact those that run around acting like they're about to fall over and die, when they are doing very minimal work. C'mon, you know what I'm talking about. It's an obvious exagerration in an attempt to make others aware that the person is working out hard. These are usually the same people that won't let you work in, or won't sidestep when they're walking straight towards you on the way to the water fountain.

btw, I curl more than the 50's ;)

Most of the things you guys are complaining about are things that can either be ignored (you don't like people because the don't go to the gym enough) or things that you can remedy with a little politeness ("mind letting me cut in line to get a sip?" - "Can I work in?")

But by far, the one thing that frustrates me the most is people not taking their plates off the bars. I don't hesistate to tell guys who are lifting 2x what I am that they need to go take their stuff off the bars (and usually they aren't lifting nearly what I lift but look a lot bigger nonetheless).

the fat guy who has read one issue of mens health and thinks he's now a fuckin guru, comes over to me in the middle of a set and tries to correct my form or tell me a better exercise for that muscle group. this really happened a few weeks ago. I wanted to smash him upside the head with 50! :kapow:

I take out my contacts and put on headphones to get rid of those dumb people. Just me and the weights help keep me focused!

Focus on your workout. Who cares what other people are doing?

Get in the gym. .train hard. . and leave. There shouldn't be any time for observing other people.
If you read the start of this thread you'll see that I don't pay attention to what they do in the gym, it's the fact that they are obviously not dedicated and get in my way on Monday and Tuesday. If those same people were in the gym all week than I wouldn't complain about over crowding; I would go to one of the other two.

I hate when people ask to work with me (I mean using the same bench) and start doing sets of 100 reps for 10 minutes

I just remembered some...

People yapping loudly on their Nextel speakerphones in the middle of everything.

The gym staff vacuuming around me as I workout. Vacuum noise really throws off my focus.

There are always at least a guy on busy Mondays who use a bench for bis curls ( ), even though there are 10 people waiting for DB press, then put his newspapers and cellphone on the bench, go drink water for 10 minutes and then come back just to take his stuff and go on another machine :redhot:

Yeah! I workout in the evening, and the gym biotch is vacuuming a circle around me, then procedes to clean the mirror I am standing in front of trying to watch my damn form- AGHH! Wouldn't be bad if she was cute, but she's not
