What are your thoughts on cancer and how it is spreading.

I can remember as a child, you really did not hear that much about cancer. I just finished a book by Kevin Treadau "Natural Cures" and he began me thinking that it is all related to the food we eat.The additives ,preservatives and toxic fillers in processed foods is whats increasing cancer. I know, I had never heard of anal cancer before Farah Fawcett became ill. What are your thoughts on whats causing it. I know I eat only organic fruits, vegetables and dairy products. I have been also considering cutting all meat from my diet as well.. Discuss

What you read is true. The food we eat is what increases the chances of getting cancer. Too much processed/additives/hormones/preservatives/toxics in our food. Try to eat whole, organic, non processed foods and you'll decrease your chances of getting cancer exponentially. The first layer is to have organic meats, then vegetables and fruit where available. Have local organics first, if not available, then have imported.

You don't have to cut meat out from your diet, but have the best you can find. Going cheap on this is counterproductive and it wont help you at all. After all, it is your health.

I think charred meat produces carcinogenics..

It does. I have heard of a study done that suggests soaking the meat in beer or wine first dramatically reduces to production of (cant remember the name of the compound), but I've never actually read the study, evaluated who did the study, etc to determine whether or not it has any merit to it. Maybe Tat has.

It's easy to say that modern advantages in food preparation have increased the incidents of cancer because there were less incidents many years ago. What I do know is that going back to the 'old' farming techniques would reduce the amount of available food in the world such that alot of people would die. As well, what I don't know is if the ratio of cancer has increased when compared to the population. If it's the same, then I'd say that we're just in a panic because the amount of incidents are no more then they were years ago.

Chris, I also read and have heard for years that pig or breakfast meat produces carcinogenics linked to brain cancer..

That has a huge part to play in the increases in recognising cancer.

The increase in obesity is also related to the increase in cancer.

You also have to specify what type of cancer, as it does vary from country to country.

I don't think colon cancer is an issue for the Japanese and they also have a much lower incidence of breast cancer, but a higher incidence of stomach cancer.

EXACTLY. I believe it's mostly due to the fastfood industry. Not thast fastfood in general Will cause cancer but it definately plays a tremendous part in the obesity problem in this country.
Colon and rectal cancer are definately due to obesity IMO.
