Vote: My Deads single or triple what shall i do?

If 308 is bugging you that much then I would say just pull it and then get your form perfect. If there is an exercise you dont want to have bad form with I would say its the deadlift.

Im beginning to think fuck maxing w/ 308. I know if I miss them Ill feel like shit, I may even skip back that day I dunno but Ill be pissed as hell.

And in the back of my mind Iv got a feeling I wont make it. Im loosing strength on deads every week, maybe if the week after I got 292 x 4 i had tryed for 308 then yes but its too late for that now. And even so 308 isnt my main goal, my main goal was 315...

If I drop it down in weight Ill probably go back up to 6 reps instead of 1-3...

Instead of just doing normal deadlifts try switching it up ... do some rack pulls or some platform pulls .... those exercises will get you deadlifting some serious weight

I think your strength may be falling because you are doing a BB routine. Are you cutting cals? if you can do 292 three times, you can certainly lift 16 more for 1.

exactly... just eat a shitload of carbs the night before, and the day of your attempt...
and go for the 315... you WILL get it if you are carbed up and focused...

Not exactly cutting cals but controlling carbs and fat. Cardio 3-5 times a week. So far I have been setting PR's every workout though. My big 3 have had a history to do this, go up in weigth alot over a short amount of time, then I start to loose it for a while, then it hoveres around the same weight for a long time. This has happened twice before on each of the big 3.

I dont think I will go for the 308, depends how I feel on the day. Southern Lord suggested dropping to 265 x 5 then adding 10lbs each workout untill I cant, if I stall and only manage 3 one workout then add 5lbs each week and go from there. I think I will do this unless I feel strong tomorrow...

If you want to pull 3 plates...then pull 3 plates.

But then...what are you doing to INCREASE your deadlift????????? Deadlifts???

When I want to pull a 1RM I'll pull:
1 plate x 1
3 plates x 1 x 2 sets
5 plates x 1
6 plates x 1
7 plates x 1
8 plates x 1

Of course this is usually after some light stretching, warm ups, and quite often after hard box squats too.

There are a few exercises in bodybuilding were form is very important and throwing form out the door can get your seriously hurt. Squats and Deads are on top of that list.

Out of curiosity...how does it differ from a bodybuilder to a strength athlete?

Form is great...but isn't just the matter of "keeping form". I'd say that 95%+ of all "bodybuilders" fail to correctly assess their weaknesses. And I don't mean "weaknesses on stage" but 99%+ of the people who call themselves bodybuilders will never see a stage except in pictures...

I look better than a lot of actual bodybuilders in this country simply because they do not train heavy and hard with compound exercises. Truth is...they CAN'T because they haven't spent any time working on their core strength, rotators, erectors, abs, hips, and hamstrings properly.

And doing those exercises get them "out of proportion"? Unless small is a proportion, it isn't a problem.

:)
