Turning point in American Society

Been having a recurring dream about a couple of historical events and so they've been on my mind a lot lately.

I'm thinking these events reshaped America and maybe the world:

JFK Murdered, and ensuing warren commision.
Beriln Wall Coming Down.
Invasion of Tibet.
Bay of Pigs and Missle Crisis.
Murder of MLK.

Any one know of a good book drawing a cause/affect connection between major historical events and societal changes?

The absolute one thing that totally changed the course of American history is the Supreme Court Decision in the 1830's (I think) that allowed corporations the same basic rights as you or I and recognized them as a legal entities under the law.

the Connections by James Burke series are the first thing that come to mind.
not sure if there are specific references to what you say - but the whole point of them is to connect historical references to explain various event through time.
frequently it is more scientific or invention based rather than what you refer to - but perhaps if you check out amazon and follow related topics, you can find something?

that's the one. used to watch it in my history of science class frosh year of college (gut class - meaning easy).
I enjoyed the show greatly.

if you liked that show, then you love the book in my sig - the collapse of chaos - although it is more scientific, it is still an easy read

Maybe it's the small, seemingly inconsequential things when they happen, that really shapes history. Brings to mind the Sci-Fi movie "When Time Runs Out" where a time traveler is assigned to put money into a parking meter because a ticket would bring about a chain of events resulting in the destruction of humankind or something like that.
