yes thanks for the support fellas, i made this thread becuase My DOC and statistics also show that an exceeding amount of BB'ers are developing tenodonitis, golfers elbow and tennis elbow from certain range of motions
this is meant to be informative, Guys if you are feeling a pain in your joints or tendons that is not normal, STOP! If you have had lingering injuries for a while now, please do your body a favor and get them checked and taken care of.
Sorry to hear that Ghost!!!
Hey bro did papa BigPHX call it or what???
Cortisone and REST!!! Should clear it up in 2 to 3 weeks. You will want to start training right after you get the first shot because the pain will go away from the injections. DONT TRAIN!!! 2 to 3 weeks off!!! End of story!!!
Also there are several things you should change how you train(not a bad idea any way to change things up) and also do some forearm building but dont go back and start pounding you forearms! Ease into it. I've had the same shit for years and figured out how to get around it...
The movements that hurt you avoid or switch to 1 day heavy next rountine light.(This works for me!) Example... Hammer curls and close grip t-bar rows FUCKS ME UP so I have a heavy day and next time a light day on the target movements. I AM NOT talking heavy light the full routine JUST the target movements that hurt your arms.
When I feel tennis or golf elbow acting up out come the forearm straps and topical cortisone and DMSO for several day until it clears up, I also avoid the movement that fucks me up until I'm 100% again.<<<AVOID MOVEMENT!
I have one other secret weapon I use and this one is GOOD...
Just before I leave to go to the gym I pull out of the freezer 2 soft ice packs, now check this out... I get done working out my arm got that little pain going on I pull out my forearm straps and ice soft packs, place the pack on the forearm and put the wrap around it. TADA! Think about pro baseball pitcher they got that arm on ice in seconds after the last pitch. I drive home like this and its FUNNY as fuck when people look but hell this works kick-ass!!!
Bro this shit has taken me OUT of the gym countless times!!! Above is how I beat it. Hope this helps you and any other bros.
Oh yea HEAT only made it worse so I would stay away from heat on this type of injury reguardless of what you hear.
Also you may want to rub some barely legal on it too!(Wont hurt
Oh yea one more thing the doctor you are using... is he a sports doctor? If not you may want to seriously consider shopping for one and look for one that is specialized in "trigger point injections"<<<KEY any doctor can jab you with cortisone but you want that mother fucker in the "right" place. My doctor treats pro football and baseball players and this is his area of expertise. So make your your doc is on the ball with this.
Damn it!!!! One more thing... Get your mind in the movements and be aware of hand placement i.e. when you do dumbell curls notice that your wrists stay locked and not bent back through the movement. I catch myself all the time, I will get a pain in my forearm and sure enough my hand and wrist placement is off!(bent back wrist)
I think I got tennis elbow writting this post! Wheres the barely legal???
Take care bro!
