What was supposed to be a normal delt inj. Turned into a bad horror movie scene. My buddy aspirated and injected me everything was good Togo until he removed the needle and blood shot out of my delt and sprayed a bit, it was pretty sweet. Anyone had this happen???

Happens sometimes, that's why you aspirate.
 
aspirating isn't gonna stop that from happening.

you can still nick a vein on the way out. aspirating is useless

my real concern though is why is your 'buddy' injecting you? do it yourself ... its much easier to inject yourself .. now you can get him to help you with the plunger but the actual injection you should do on your own.

I was saying you aspirate not to inject in the wrong place my friend. :) People don't realize there are veins and serious blood flow in the muscle tissue - and improper injections can be dangerous.
 
Should be able to pin delts yourself unless.. glutes is a different matter

Me to.... I aspirated twice 20 years ago when I first started. The second time for what ever reason it hurt badly (immediate pain ) and I haven't done it sense.

^^up there pretty sure I stated he aspirated...eh we're medics we like the practice, we do give shots to people that aren't ourselves and not just juice. Practice makes perfect right

Ok enlighten me... I do not aspirate and was tougt by a pro bb 20 years ago no need to. Anyone I know personally dosent also. I never thought to do any research. If I'm doing something wrong I have no problems correcting it.

Edit nevermind just did a search.... Can't see the poll results. Not trying to make a debate. I don't pin my quads never had good luck there most of the time I can find a nerve unintentionally. So I'm not going to throw my doc off a roof today.

First off how long does it take to aspirate? 2 seconds? Why be fucking stupid and not do it. If you were taught not to do it by a pro then he was also a pro idiot.

If I chose not to aspirate then a quad injection a couple years ago would have had 2.5ml of gear go straight into my blood stream. WHy? Cause I fucking aspirated and the syringe started to fill with blood.
Then a second time in a delt injection the same shit happened.

Out of hundreds of pins I have had two times where aspirating saved my ass. maybe my fucking life, who knows. I think its worth it.

My thoughts exactly. I aspirate every time. Ive never drawn blood into the syringe yet, but there is always the possibility. It takes 2 seconds to do, and it doesn't hurt anything so why not do it? Especially doing something like quads where the potential to hit veins is higher than other sites

But it's ok if vets and mods choose not to. Or at least they don't get called out.
 
I just scanned through the old poll and you had plenty of guys like Stevesmi, Radar, Nelson, Ledhead, Rustilldown, Psizz (gals) etc. that don't aspirate.

So, no need to come down on anyone for it. If you want to address it because you feel its a serious issue - then start at the top, not the bottom.

I am no guru by any means do I know as much as the guys you listed above???? I will answer that question for you SHIT NO!!!!

I did no search before I made my post I printed my opinion no one else's. I did a search after I was called out and edited my post.

My friend I am soon to be 47 in Aug. My first cycle was in 1989 so I've pinned my self a few times....

I work a full time job, run 2 of my own business, a wife, 3 children, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 horses. And still manage to train 4 or 5 times a week.

So that would explain my low post count.

Therefore I am thankful for Nelson, Steve, Rick, Joe blow, and many many more people that can post on a regular basis and educate myself and the 1000's of lurkers!!!!

Sorry for the derail on this thread just thought I would clear my mind.

Low post count doesn't mean sh1t. It simply means your taking things in. Its kinda like listening instead of talking. It can be a good thing.

I went to a Golds Gym from age 18-22. After 4 years, I knew 1 person and that was the guy who ran the counter during the day.

But I learned more than the guys that ran their mouth all day.

It's true i don't aspirate, after 100's of injects i have never had a problem, also after yrs working at a hospital we never aspirated, BUT! if you wish to aspirate for peace of mind or whatever reason then please do it, I'm not a judgemental person.
 
For all of you upset with Burn's reaction - one of the things you may not know with a low post count is that he is a very direct and straightforward person. He doesn't beat around the bush and isn't shy about expressing his opinion directly. But the guy has more heart and concern for others on the forum than almost anyone - same level as guys like Radar, Dylan, Joe, etc. So if you get offended that easily by his post take a step back and look at his posting history on the site and the uncounted number of people he has helped and reconsider the issue. Maybe he's so direct because he's trying to help younger/less experienced people on the site avoid a potentially serious issue.

He's protecting you, not degrading you.

Never once bashed the man I have read many of his posts. He is very knowledgeable. Not that I follow him but I never seen him one off that strong. He has his opinion and I commend him for speaking up on his feelings. I don't have thin skin and my feelings weren't hurt at all. My skin is much thicker than that.

I hope they never have an issue. if any vets posted a "dont aspirate" thread do you think I woukd give a fuck about who they are or their goddamn post count when I express my strong disagreement in their thread?
if someone new here says they learned something wrong and I can help educate them as to why its a bad idea then im going to do it. besides it takez 2 seconds. so wtf....do it. or dont...I dont fucking care. I dont get paid for helping people here. I do it to try and keep people from making stupid mistakes or fucking themselves up or to correct bullshit that the have been taught by retards...including retard doctors who say dont aspirate. general practitioners are some of the stupidest people walking around.

I wasn't taught to aspirate in school...or in the army for giving vaccines which is admittedly a different animal...also my anatomy is probably a fuck lot better than most...

but you know what? I still nail my own fuckin nerves sometimes

going THROUGH a vein and getting a quick spurt of blood is not going to kill you...promise
