Ten Reasons to Workout early in the AM

1) I nearly get the gym to myself
2) No small talk when I workout or in the locker room
3) Zero traffic coming to work
4) I get the best parking space at work
5) Nice cardio burn on an empty stomach
6) I can pose or stretch in the gym between sets without getting any funny looks
7) I am free at lunchtime to enjoy the sunshine and do whatever I want to do
8) Less chance of some event happening during the day to preempt my workout
9) I am more likely to go to bed earlier knowing I will must wake up early
10) I get a better start to my daily diet because I want to reinforce my good morning workout

While I like and agree with your list, I just can't do morning workouts. I don't know if it's still bad memories from morning workouts for football but I just can't get motivated in the mornings. Right now I train around 3pm most days and the gym is pretty empty except for the housewives and most of them don't go near a squat rack.LOL

Cheers,

I agree. Getting motivated to workout in the morning is extremely difficult. Unless I get into a regular morning routine I'm tired throughout the day. Early evening works best for me.

If I were to get up early enough to work out, shower, eat, AND miss some of the morning traffic, I think I'd have to wake up at 4:00 AM. That's just not going to happen.

Yeh same here. When I was playing college baseball we had to be at the gym stretched and ready to go at 445. Man did that suck.

I hear yah brotha! Early football workouts blow huge satchel.

i give you props man because most people including me are lazy when they wake up. it takes a lot of motivation to get up early and go to the gym. especially if you aren't taking in any caffeine. Franco Columbu worked out every mourning and he said the best energy comes from your own body. Keep on keeping on man!
