Perk, I just saw your K-message. To be honest, I'd pretty much given up waiting. I think I've made it clear that it's never been a post I've coveted merely one that I've been prepared to accept for the common good of those in the Weights forum. If I've been deemed unacceptable it's almost a relief. I hope the other two are still considered worthwhile candidates for modship. It was my impression, though, that you had no part in the mod-choosing process. Thanks for the info, anyway.

Well, I've disabled all of the icons relating to Karma. I can't give K unless I fiddle about with my browser's init-file and I can't see dots or crowns anymore. Once I'd gotten going I also disabled ads and glowing stars and the "Platinum" icon so I can't even tell whether someone is Plat. In my browser window, everyone is now non-Plat and I can only spot mods from their user title.

I've also shut down my Karma window and my PM box is over by about 200 PMs so all extraneous gubbins are gone. EF is now just a plain old chatboard. Very retro.

In Opera 9 there's an ini file for blocking urls - urlfilter.ini. I just systematically closed things down by adding image addresses to the file, including that old gay porn image in the banner. It takes wildcards to close down entire directories if needed.

Of course, if you were asking how I'd managed to be over by 200 PMs...

i have never gotten karma when they've billed me. am i the only one?

NO you are NOT the only one. I have been a plat since oct 2002 and have been rebilled for my membership numerous times int he nearly 4 years and I NEVER recieved the Karma pay out I was due.

I also paid for a personal consultation to the tune of $487 and NEVER received it. I just got the run around for about 6 months and finally I got fed up and wrote it off as a loss!
