Too much time has passed. I think they were just getting too busy and I wasn't on the "A" list or somethign and after 6 or 8 months of getting the run around I got tired of the effort. Something like this should have been implemented long ago. The original system was designed to represent people that truly did a good job here helping others. Of course, like all good things here, they are ruined by people who feel the need to take advantage of such a feature to inflate their e-penis.

It only got this out of hand because most here think it's some ticket to popularity for some odd reason. If GS and his staff have to continuously monitor the ever increasing karma levels and add features to accomodate levels that weren't even thought about why not charge for it? Something needs to be donw about it as most here seem consumed over these dumbass little dots.

I think one would find this attitude more common among old-schoolers who remember the way karma used to be long ago. However, I can also understand how many of the newer guys feel. I'm sure many of them came here 'cause of the karma system and it's entertainment value.

But honestly, no matter what administration would do, there would be people here who didn't like the way things are. The karma system had to change... I think many people realized that.

It would be a hard [business] move no matter what the site administrators choose, so the credited choice would be to realize and accept the changes made to the site. Sure, let your opinion be known, but do so in a somewhat professional manner. If it means leaving C&C or even Elite Fitness, then don't think for a minute that the site's administrators didn't realize the ramifications of their actions.

Elite Fitness is and has always been a solid board that's here to stay. I think most of us have seen -- or at least heard of -- "other" sites' fall from grace. I believe that Elite is truly here to stay, and will risk making a few members unhappy (or even some leaving) in order to maintain the prestige and integrity of EF... and make sure that it's here in ten years from now, just like it was here nearly ten years ago.

Why did it have to change?

Other than the fact that inflation had made karma purchases in the karma store a poorer deal, what was so necessary about change? This was about one thing - commerce.
