Scandal in Formula 1 (Indianapolis)

FIA reveals serious charges for Michelin teams

The FIA will bring serious charges against the seven Michelin teams when they attend the World Motor Sport Council hearing a week on Wednesday. Each of the teams will have to answer to charges that they committed 'one or more acts prejudicial to the interests of a competition' and 'the interests of motor sport generally'.

In an identical letter sent to the bosses of each Michelin team, the FIA stated that they will be called on to answer to the following charges:

- failing to ensure they had a supply of suitable tyres for the race
- wrongfully refusing to allow their cars to start the race
- wrongfully refusing to allow their cars to race subject to a speed restriction in one corner which was safe for such tyres as were available
- combining with other teams to make a demonstration damaging to the image of Formula One by pulling into the pits immediately before the start of the race

The FIA is also bringing charges against the teams for failing to notify stewards of their intention not to race, apparently in breach of Article 131 of the Formula One sporting regulations.

I wonder if the other sponsors of the Michelin-shod teams are upset because their rolling billboards failed to get two hours of TV exposure on Sunday?

I love the idea that they were suppose to race, but at a reduced speed compared to the other six cars on bridgestone tires. Nah, that wouldn't have made the race a joke.

From what I have been reading, $$$ demands (next comes the lawsuits) are coming in from all directions...this was a BIG mistake...lots of wasted time on the horizon.

They're shooting at each others

FIA vs Michelin vs Michelin teams vs Ferrari...

In the end everybody will lose

How is that any different from the cars that have to go slower because they aren't as good as the front runners? I'm sure the Minardi drivers have to restrain themselves on every lap because the car just isn't up to it. So, everyone in a Michelin-shod car just has to pretend they're in a Minardi.

I got 4500, still waiting for the missing 500.
With Kimi's pitiful performance you don't deserve more than 2500 ;)
