Other teams show up to races with inferior equipment all the time. Take Minardi, for example. I don't see special allowances being made for them.

It's just that this time it was seven teams.

I'll repeat my earlier lame analogy -- if Michelin had shown up at Indy with nothing but rain tires, would you think it reasonable for the Michelin teams to demand that the track be kept watered down?

But the FIA was aware of it since Friday and they did nothing but the 3 stupid propositions

On the other hand Michelin and the Michelin teams suggested to install the chicane and be penalised

BTW, the seven Michelin-shod teams have been summoned to a meeting in Paris on the 29th. I guess that's when Max and Bernie are gonna lay the smackdown.

Here is the scenerio: FIA will get his ass sued off this week, FIA docks all the non-competing teams all their championship points, fires Michelin...teams refuse to race the next race.

The FIA has summoned the seven Michelin teams to a hearing of the FIA World Motor Sport Council in Paris on Wednesday 29 June. The FIA is expected to lay down some kind of punishment to the teams following their decision not to race in the US Grand Prix on Sunday because their tyres were not safe to do so.

I've been fascinated by this situation since it came about on Sunday.

Kudos to F1 for posting up the correspondence between themselves, Michelin, and the teams.

I don't think you can fault them...rules are rules. It's extremely unfortunate that only 6 cars got to race on Sunday, but their credibility would have been ruined had they acted otherwise. F1 may be doomed, but it's not because of lack of integrity.
