Roony I've been looking for some of the foods you have listed because they sound like things I might want to try. My local grocery stores don't have 99% of them. We have one vitamin shop other than GNC that carries "specialty" food items. Other than that Wal-mart, Kroger & Marsh are all I have to choose from and their selection is less than sufficient. Boca-Burger items seem to be what they carry the most of.

Do you order them online or do you live in a city that has a big specialty food store?

Hey Que! I mostly get my food from a local grocery store chain (Acme) that's close to me. I would think it's similar to a Kroger. What food are you having trouble locating exactly? I do sometimes go to Trader Joes, which is more of a specialty food store, but the only items specifically that I get there that I can't get anywhere else is almond butter and Ezeikal bread. I know almond butter can easily be ordered online, but I'm not totally sure about the Ezeikal bread.

Oh, I just don't write it down. I just log other beverages like diet soda and juice when I do drink 'em. Generally, I drink about 100-120oz during the week but am not as good over the weekend. It's an excuse to get up from my desk at work whereas at home over the weekends, I tend to forget with all the running around.

My lower body is so sore today that it hurts to walk up from my first floor to my second floor. You would think I took a break from working out for a year instead of just 3 weeks! Looks like I will spend most of the day in a seated or lying position :D

Scale weight: 114.5lbs

My glutes and quads are still killing me! Seriously, between still having to pee frequently from the kidney infection and all these aches, I really feel like I have the foresight in knowing what it’s like to be a senior citizen :worried:
Whooaaaaaaa, Nelly!!!! That scale is STILL goin' down!!!! :worried:

....however; the sore butt & quads are making me smile! Good job! :) I'll bring you a walker @ Treil's show! :D

About the meats...are you concerned with things being organic and such? If not, feel free to buy them from Acme or TJ's. I agree...TJ's is SO much cheaper. I only buy certain things from Whole Foods now...no point in spending unnecessarily.

As far as the slow cooker...you can definitely do stews in there. A cut up chicken with garlic, onion, peppers, italian seasoning, and some crushed tomatoes would be good. Olives would be a good addition to that. I've cooked beans in there as well, so you could definitely do a spicy chili in there. I think I posted a veggie chili recipe in the recipe thread.

I'm sure I can think of a few other things...

DOMS...yessss! Any idea when you are changing your nutritionist?

Have a good one!

Here are some things I've looked for and can't seem to find locally: jerk spice, Ezekial wraps, almond butter, power butter, wasa crackers, soy pasta and a host of other things I've read about in journals. I've looked in the fridge sections, health foods sections, diet sections, organic sections, etc. etc.

There's a little hole-in-the-wall vitamin store with some organic foods but if there's an inch of dust on the package I'm not buying it. Hard tellin how long it's been there. I just didn't want to drive an hour to the nearest decent sized food store that might carry this stuff.

It's interesting that you ask me this today. Prior to getting sick, I had decided to try a Beverly Int'l diet for 6-10 weeks for the final stretch of cutting. I ordered all the supplements recommended (~$300 worth) and the box arrived right after I was diagnosed with kidney problems. This weekend I made the tough decision to return it all despite the 20% restocking fee I'll be charged. I've just decided to focus on my health for the next 2-3 months and cut my body some slack. Having to go for an ultrasound and worry about tumors has slightly changed my perspective. I've learned to appreciate what I have...so for now, I'm happy to maintain in the 15% bf range and just enjoy my workouts. I've never really had to deal with anything beyond the common cold, cough and flu before so this whole ordeal was hard for me to handle. It made me realize that without my health intact, nothing else matters.

Thanks for the recipe suggestions and Whole Foods tips. I've made a list on what I need to get from there and will be trying out your turkey chilli recipe soon.

Hope you had a nice Sunday!

That's a shame, Que. My suggestions to you are:

1) Talk to the store manager of your Kroger and Walmart and see if they have any plans to bring any of these products in soon. Sometimes, they do take suggestions from their customers

2) If you do have a Trader Joes or Whole Foods Market within an hour of you, it may be worthwhile to take that drive. A lot of the items you mention above keep well, so you may only have to go periodically to stock up.

3) Order online. One website in particular, Netrition.com, has quite a few of these items available and their shipping is only $4.95 per entire order I believe. That may even be cheaper than driving with the price of gas right now.

Good luck! :rose: :)
