Recovery and training after breast implants

Hi,

I had under the muscle breast implants 9 days ago and am absolutely itching to get back into the gym. Obviously don't want to do myself any damage so was wondering how long other people had waited before lifing again. I was thinking I could do some low impact cardio and light weights on lower body/possibly arms? Hate to see all my hard work go to waste!

Advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

You may post this or link it in the girls training forum. Plenty of them have done bolt-ons and should be a wealth of info.

omg. under the muscle for a female bodybuilder...I have personal experience with this. I had the same procedure in 2000 and at the time I was fit but not bench pressing and seriously lifting weights...By 2001-2002 my boyfriend had converted me to his workout program and I was a ripped, strong little fit girl. BUT....the problem was the friction between my pecs and the implants. I waited as long as I could, but the implant finally dislodged and would move towards my armpit every time my pecs contracted. To sleep, I had to use 3 pillow and get into a very specific, on my belly propped up position...this was because of the pain I could deal with during the day but couldn't ignore while I was trying to fall asleep. After I had implants put over the muscle, the pocket where the implant used to be turned into a glorified blister. It filled with fluid after being drained by the doctor twice and was a huge headache. I now have beautiful implants over the muscle and can exercise as I want, but I still have some pain as a reminder of my stupidity for waiting so long to get the implants switched out...

If you've had them under the muscle already, learn from my mistake. If they start hurting, go to the doctor right away and get them over the muscle. If you wait, your body will build up a callous around the implant under the pec (from all the rubbing with the contraction) & you will have the same problems I do....

I have had 2 sets of implants....both under the muscle. Only thing I will stress to you is to NOT train your chest hard. The implants will begin to separate, and not look as good. This was advice directly from my surgeon and personal experience :) I had little breast tissue so I needed to go under the muscle, and when I competed, you obviously lose body fat and the implants show much more. So that's why the over the muscle end up looking like 2 balloons, because they don't have the muscle to cover. On the flip side, when going under the muscle, when you flex the implant does get distorted and looks weird.

I waited about 4-5 days after my first surgery, and then just did cardio. I slowly started back to lifting, about 2weeks later, but very light. After my second surgery, I had no pain as there was a pocket already there, and I went bigger, hit the weights after a week and had no pain or issues.

So again, my only advice is to watch doing anything chest related....I only do close grip bench and that pulls a little. You will feel how far you can go, your body is unique and different to anyone else's!!

This is my experience! Love your new girls and take care of them!
