New Police Tactic!bros Read This!

Warmachine

New member
When i came home from work last night, there was a note on my door from my manager telling me the police had been in my house. Some how, 911 was "called" from my apartment 2 hours after i left for work. No one lives here but me, so wtf? Apparently the police had to "check to make sure no one was hurt in my house". They said that sometimes "Computers call 911 on mistake" How the fuck could my comp dial 911 by itself?
I felt lucky i had no gear in the house...it doesnt appear they searched for anything...
lol, i even had this wep page up but the moniter was off.

So, how and why did they come check on me? Is this a new tactic to catch steroid users? In such a situation, without a warrent, can they seize any gear they find?

Be careful guys...keep your shit hidden real well, you never know if police might come to your house responding to a "911 emergency".:worried:

a long time ago, a friend of mine was growing pot in his apt. and while he was gone, the police entered his home and found the pot. They too said that someone called 911 from that address.

you might be right.

I know that they wouldnt be able to press chargers THEN...but wouldnt they be able to go get a warrent after observing the gear? Also, couldnt they confiscate it when they found it( of course they could just take it...)
Regardless, now they can have their eye on you.:freak:

hey nuh_mizer what happened to your friend and the cops coming in nd seeing the pot? did he get busted???

If the cops searched your house without a search warrant they would not be able to arrest you for your gear.

Sure they could. The prosecutor could not use the gear against you at trial to prove whatever crime you are charged with, but the police could arrest you. You are confusing conviction/evidence law with arrest powers. Police may arrest you in such a case and hope that you provide a voluntary confession. Then the prosecutor introduces your confession at trial, but not the gear.

And if the cops found your gear - they could ask you for a valid perscription from a vet or doctor, and if you can't provide one, they can take it.

If they enter your place on a 911 emergency, I am sure they would be legally limited to investigating the soure of the call, but any searching beyond that would be outside the scope of the call - so if they looked in a drawer and found gear, that could not be used against you at trial.

suggestion

unplug your frikin phone line jackass.

auto redial is very old. used long before authentication was avaialble. If there is a program running hidden, that 'sees' a phone line and dials 911, then does 'something', the cops can come, ie emergency.

As for entering your 'house', since you are in an apt, the manager has rights to enter in the event of problems. Even your home can be entered, but without the proper warrent, what is found can not be used.

I believe there is something called a "plain sight rule" or something like that. If they respond to a call for say 911 or a disturbance and they find gear or pot laying in plain sight then they can bust you for it. If they search without a warrant then I don't think they can. Illegal search and seizure.

you dont think the cop do this kind of shit all the time,
they dont care about your rights or if they violate any laws they just happy fuckin up your program period
