Nearly died today

Went for a motorcycle ride with some friends today. We were going around a small very tight hairpin turn when I ran off the road. Like an idiot I looked down for a sec and ran right off the curve. Luckily there was a small erosion gulley that I steered into which jumped me back up on the road. If it had given way or I had missed it I would have been flung down a steep hill into a group of trees. Happened so fast I didn't even have time to get scared. I just got up out of the saddle like you're supposed to and corrected my mistake. Didn't even get much of an increase in HR.

Just thought I'd share.

Glad that you are ok...I hate motorcycles, they are very dangerous.
Had a cousin pass away in a bike accident going round a curve just about 2 years ago. And that is not the only part, one of his best riding partners died in a bike accident about 2 months after him.
Terrible.

Bikes are only as dangerous as the person operating them. Had something happened to me it would have totally been my fault for doing something I know way better than to do.

Not necessarilly. Accidents happen all the time by the hands of a car driver near the bike. honestly think that all states it should be mandatory to wear complete riding gear and helmet when ever on one.

Yep I was third in line out of the four of us so the last guy got to witness it. He thought I was a goner as well.
