My dad bailed on my mom, sister and I too. Fucking tore our family to pieces. Everything went to shit for a while but now my mother is remarried to a great guy and my sis and I are doing fairly well.

My dad on the other hand has been remarried and divorced since, has come down with a chronic degenerative illness and was forced into early retirement. He now spends his days mostly alone except for the occasional visit from my sis and I when we have time.

I love the guy...after all he is still and always will be my father, but karma sure is a bitch.
