My drama queen paralegal is driving me nuts....

I don't think you can collect unenjoyment if you are fired, you have to be laid off.

I just walked a pleading in to her to package the suit together to go off via overnight mail. She slammed it on her desk and sighed. I told her, "I'm sorry, but I just got the docs to prep that suit this afternoon and as you know, I need them to go out the same day."

I think she is really being insubordinating. She better watch her step. I'm very friendly, but I'm getting sick of her shit.

Plus, she uses the "n word" from time to time, despite my telling her not to do that.

She also tortures us with talk about her sex life.

Good God.

I am going to pass on here the best advice I ever got about being a boss/manager. It has served me well over the years.

Focus on what she does good - not what she does bad. We ALL have bad traits/habits. You got to use her for the good things and not get hung up on the bad or you are constantly changing employees.

I have never let go an employee and I have never had one quit. Trust me, adopt this attitude and youre career will go much smoother.

Hmm, maybe it varies by state.

I know two girls that were fired by last boss and they both collected but if you quit you can't collect unless there are circumstances that you can prove that you were forced to quit (like sexual harassment).

That is very good advice. I'm taking that to heart.
